Glad we won, did not expect to win after the toast kicked the first goal in the last quarter so easily. JDG was our only player who looked like kicking a goal in the Third quarter and even be hit the post. The last 10 minutes was epic. We still make far too many dumb errors and while it was good to win, we are still torturous to watch at times and have a lot of work to do next season. Great to show some heart and win a close one!

Don't tell me what I am or am not entitled to. You don't get a say.RudeBoy wrote:Bully for them. The Hawks team was loaded with terrific young talent when Clarkson took over. Bucks on the other hand, inherited a relatively young team overall, but one where its best players were all old and just about finished - Jolly, Ball, Dids, Johnno, Tarrant, Davis and Leroy. You and others can criticise Bucks all you like, but in doing so you will not be entitled to celebrate the victories he will bring to our club in the coming years.Doc63 wrote:None of them went backwards every year. One of them won a flag in that time.kymbo5@yahoo.com.au wrote: Winning under those circumstances is far from mediocre.
Bucks coaching record having more wins than Thompson, Malthouse and Clarkson at the same stage of their careers is also far from mediocre. They won flags under each respectively and we will too, I'm sure. As they were prepared to see out the rough times, so am I.
I hold a cup of wisdom, but there is nothing within.

Watched the 3rd while cooking dinner.
My kids arrived with 4 minutes to go in the last quarter. My son has always had shit timing.
I opened the front door, said g'Day as they came in then ignored them for the next 3.5 minutes. The Grandson ran straight out the back and apparently was copying my yells from the front lounge as we kicked those final goals to win.
Whether Bucks can coach or not, the players are clearly playing for him, that was a great win.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

The stats point to eagles losing contested ball big time in last quarter - Wills was involved in nullifying them to the detriment of own stats - its not just about kicks and handballs for oneself....Kill for Collingwood wrote:Coach crap for denying Wills unfairly or soooo long!!!! Wrecking ball etc etc etc Got his chance today and down to 20 players. If he touched it, must have been off camera. Coach no idea!!!!

I was thinking about that after the game too. It's like when we have nothing to lose by it, we take the big risks and play far more direct football. Far less mucking around with trying to set up the perfect forward entry.Mugwump wrote: 2. Why do you persist on playing this crazy over-possessing rugby Style game through the middle ? When we went long and direct in the last twenty minutes we floored them.
Wish we could start every game with that frame of mind, but I'm also very glad that we managed to play like that for 10 minutes at the end.
You can't possibly give him votes. Try hard as he does, unfortunately he is a turnover king. I lost count of the number of times he turned it over trying to spot someone in the middle of the ground. But when HE is coming through the middle, he hits up players very well.Pies4shaw wrote:It's hard to know what to make of Crisp's game. To his credit, he backed up and kept at it and getting 33 disposals is a good effort for a make-shift half-back but he was just awful for most of the game and cost us several goals. I want to give him votes but it's just difficult to assess such a mixed bag.
Looks like it's a mental thing. If he can overcome that, he may well turn out to be the player we think he can.
