essentially we will have - 22, 34, 39, 41, 45, 46, 58, 79.
Clearly more points than we need for Daicos. Pick 22 by itself is overs for Lipinski and Kreuger.
So, loaded up now this year however a lot will worry about next year.
I can see pick 22 being used for one of the players we are after plus a future 3rd or 4th. I can see the current players we are looking to de-list being worth later picks next year also.

The brains and expertise that is Graham Wright has been highlighted on Day one of Trade week. A fantastic trade that has more layers to it than an onion. Consider:
1. Struck early: timing is everything. Last year we were caught short with a desire to offload multiple players, little time to do it and seemingly little negotiation leg work being done during the pre-trade period. 2021? Bang! The tools we need to deploy have been snared day one!
2. Points: whether called first, second or third, we have Daicos points sorted and beaten all other suitors for Gold Coast picks that were never going to be used by them.
3. Pick 22: apparently can still be a viable trading tool on trade night and trade week without getting offset against the Daicos bid.
4. Flexibility: with current picks being: 22, 36, 41, 43, 46, 48, 58, 78, 79
we have increased flexibility when using points for Daicos and bringing in Lipinski, Kreuger and Dib.
5. Player trades: Without the stress to find 2021 points, Wright can now trade our better commodities such as Lynch for 2022 draft picks and partially replace the ones we have given to Gold Coast (ie. 2nd and 3rd rounders).

Now to augment the work done today by Graham Wright, all we need to do is NOT get rolled by bullshit media spin or Ameet Bains and have Patrick Lipinski "appreciate" in value from the 2016 Draft where he went at pick 28 and value him as a "depreciating asset" that being a pick in the forties (eg. 46). Equally valuing Kreuger as a 4th or 5th rounder. If Wrighty can complete this we are set.

It is a good deal, we've nailed Daicos, protected our first round pick and bought some flexibility. My only concern is we've paid a high price for picks that Gold Coast likely weren't going to use themselves.
You could argue we've paid overs, but if we didn't do it they could have traded those picks elsewhere for future picks so from that perspective it's a win win.
In an ideal world, any trades we make out are for next years picks and/or we manage a way to buy back into that draft

David King, Montagner after carrying on for 12 months we stuffed up trading our first this year, now we do a deal to easily land the best kid in this years draft they start carrying on about trading our future away next year. I mean aside from the fact we can still trade back in - they are late picks !!
No mention we have access to Dib this year. No mention of all the kids we brought in last year.
Just morons.
