I've got mum booked in for late April, I'm not in any of the categories getting it now so I'll wait.

What pisses me off about the way the injections are being done is the Dr’s monopoly on giving it / supervising / controlling it.

There are really highly qualified nurse practitioners out there as well as plenty of other nurses who give injections daily.

Local town halls, community centres etc could be used while there are about a million doses if not more ready to roll. Apart from medical hegemony I can’t see any justification for the manner in which it is being arranged being limited as it currently is.

Of course it was a nurse who picked up that an poorly trained Dr under the Government’s private model who picked up that the good Dr gave an injection at 4 times the recommended dose.

Well, the doctor was just making sure that the patient was 4 times as safe as everybody else. That's how it works. A nurse would never have had the guts to do that.

If the nurse was paying attention why didn’t she stop it from occurring?

I can't remember what your nominated charity was. I'm assuming it wasn't the Catholic Church or a political donation to the Libs to the benefit of Scott Morrison.
Cheers Stui,

It is the Wilderness Society: https://www.wilderness.org.au/

Nurses don’t watch over everything a Dr does FFS. Do you think they are handmaidens

In Victoria, now 26 days in a row of no new community cases. There is still no active case in the State and no-one in hospital with COVID. 19,731 test results reported negative.

No wastewater detections reported, either.

You're right. My background is in private enterprise in the commercial business world. Apart from when I was young and single, my experiences with nurses have been limited to when I was smashing my body playing sport, now it's when my kids smash their bodies playing sport.

It takes about 2 seconds to learn how to use an injection so what is covid vaccine training?Teaching them the difference between 1 and 4? Stick it in the arm, not in the eyeball?

Which makes ur quip about nurses needing to supervised to give an injection redundant.

The Gov’t wanted pharmacies to administer them at one point. Nurse Practitioners can be independent of Dr’s and are highly trained.

My overall point was that these injections could be done quickly, efficiently and affordably in the community with nurses doing it.
