I suspect the club will regret trading Stephenson if it chooses to go down that path.

2018 = Rising star winner, 38 goals, doesn't miss a game and exceeds our wildest expectations.

2019 = Starts strongly again, until the betting saga derails his season. Comes back for the finals and provides decent output for the team.

2020 = Has a delayed pre-season with glandular fever, and then COVID disrupts the season and possibly has a greater effect on a younger player like him compared to our more experienced players and leaders.

Stephenson had a poor year for his standards, but to give him away to a rival club and see him thrive elsewhere would be galling to say the least. There's no doubt that if he's on the trade table, clubs will be lining up for him in big numbers.

The club needs to have faith and back him in to turn it around. He's young, his upside is still big and hopefully with more maturity his alleged off field behaviour improves. If the club and it's culture can't handle a player that can be a little wayward, then we're in bigger trouble than I realised.

He’s certainly seen both the highs and lows in a very condensed time frame.
I have been a bit bemused by some of the comments spoken about him in recent times.
There are claims he is a one trick pony. The majority of positional players are one trick ponies. That’s why so many players spend their entire career in the one position. If he’s a one trick pony, then he’s clearly a very good one when it comes to permanent small forward.
The other claim is that he has been “ worked out “. I find it odd that nobody managed to work him out until the moment he got caught up in that betting incident.
There is so much scrutiny on all players these days, any “ working out “ usually takes all of a month to understand opposition players strengths and weaknesses.

F W I W, I don’t think he’s going anywhere in this off season. They have invested to much in him to move him on just yet, particularly if the Treloar / Phillips dominos fall in the next few days.

If he goes, then I'm going too. My patience with these muppets is on very thin ice this week.

Sack any player who does not want to uphold the traditions of our Club history and does not want to play for the colours . These people are paid huge money to perform. If they don’t or can’t , then they are fired.

Got one more season to prove something to me.

But I’m not impressed all with the club, the trades, and worse the way it’s all being handled, so damn clumsy, it’s embarrassing

That's a relief. The club hasn't gone bonkers yet.
