Actually, Wood did & got penalized 50. At least thats a bit they showed on the replay.warburton lad wrote:Whilst I agree with the calls for solidarity, I think those calling for it should acknowledge that what we served up tonite was appalling.
After Staker's cheap shot on O'bree in the first quarter, no challenge was made to him- he should have been dealt with.

Johnson's been one of our best all year. Tonight was his first poor one. Having seen Lockyer play off half-back against the Saints - yeah, BJ's miles ahead of him.camboa wrote:What does anyone think of Johnson when Lockyer is in the V.F.L surely he is better
Lockyer v O'Bree as a half-forward though? Should have been an easy choice. Tarks all the way. Gotta hope he's simply not fit enough or something, as it's a bone-headed decision if not.
Well done boys!

It's good to read comments from long time Nick's members who rarely post. There seems to be lots of them this year. It tells me that many Pies fans really do believe that we have a great team, a squad with depth, a premiership contender. Then something like tonight is dished up and we all go apeshit.
So many ghosts came back to haunt us tonight. Voss, Black, Power, Brown.....and the filthiest of all Fevola! It really was the game from hell.
Time to lick our wounds and believe once more....no matter how bad we are hurting.
SIDE BY SIDE.
millanedaicos..well worth the read.

Well back at ya idiots. I'll let you bathe in Magpie Mediocrity.
I'm sick of the current regime promising something they cannot deliver, remember Eddie saying we expect to win a premiership in the next 3 years. Well 2009 is gone, 2010 is heading south quickly, and the only positive I will take is it's another nail in MM's coffin. Although wait on, Eddie is still there, so MM is safe until end of 2011. What is Eddie still doing there, No premierships since 1999. It's time for change and for Buckley to step in.
It's time to delist the deadwood of O'Bree, Rusling, Cook, Wood, Corrie, Johnson.
It's time to play youth Blair, Goldsack, N.Brown, Barham, Dick. Hell even L. Brown is better than the chump Wood.
And it's a bit late to waste my money on these wasters as I've already bought tickets for the swans game and bought a weekend in melbourne to watch them play carlton. So I'm lamenting the curse of all magpie fans. The team and the club are an embarrassment. Tonight shows the real collingwood for what it is. Prentenders with no heart, sometimes titillating sometimes attractive but ultimately disappointing.
I'll let you wallow in the mediocrity as some of you seem to accept it.
can the mods please take the name off this turd because it is a total insult to a true collingwood hero - clubman who would turn in his grave at such crap being spewed about his beloved team -
u need to go and "support" another team
Another Donny in the making, don't like negative posts about the team, then go find something else to read.

Mick should show the boys the tape of this afternoon' Geelong game. That is how you play football. And how in blazes did the coaching staff at Collingwood miss seeing the potential in Podsiadly? Yet another player who will play in a premiership side because Collingwood let him go.sq3 wrote:No one has mentioned that Maxwell had 2 poor turnovers that resulted in goals prior to 3/4 time.
Pies cannot win againts good teams with defenders who have poor disposal by foot - Shaw, Maxwell and Obrien compared to Scarlett, Milburn and Mackie.
Skills win you matches - but after all these years MM still cannot see it - well watch the match tape of the last two games (and the Saints game).
Pies will not be a better skilled team until the post MM era begins.
Ah Collingwood. As one of my Brion supporter friends says (especially about the Mal Michael and "Mick" Malloy trade), "Collingwood - the gift that keeps on giving."

^^The Anthony decision was a shocker. As was the Brown push in the back, particularly coming straight after giving a free kick against Maxwell for a perfectly legitimate contest. Similar to Brown being paid a dodgy mark, then Toovey's mark being denied, resulting in a Brisbane goal.
So yeah, the umpires had an impact, but the Lions were better tonight. They were quicker and tougher through the middle, and, for the second half at least, had a more open and dangerous forward line.

Re: Unleash the Sackings Now
Not all people who post on here were as confident that the Pies would crush the Lions or beat the Cats last week. So by your own comments, those of us who base our assessment of the team, it's continued development, and future prospects on a the reality of our current development and are more tempered in our expectations are actually right.Hiss wrote:Before it is too late we must start sacking underperforming players and coaches. We have a culture at Collingwood that we cannot shake for some reason which basically means we can never be relied on to be the power house team in any season eg: Geelong! We drop games without any warning and do so when we are often expected to win. That just is stunning by any measure? And of course what would this receipe of failure be without the same chorus of dumb fans (many on here) who attack the man and ignore the message. They are the real cause of Collingwoods failure. They stand for failure in their own tragic lives and they support failure in our club refusing to allow any criticism of this non effort.
I call for sackings now before this season is lost. I agree with many of the great posters on here like DTM and Dave the Man.
As for me actually being the cause of your perceived club failure, I don't see how you can justify that in any way shape or form. An utterly rediculous claim.
PS: DTM and Dave the Man are one and the same.

We haven't hit a leading forward since Brian Taylor so whats new at Collingwood....we can't even hit a target from 15....way to congested what happened to a bit of 1 on 1 at FF...with a crumber at the feet...

Hey Think Positive and jmcp or whatever your moniker is "u need to go and "support" another team" come up with something original.
I post what I post because i'm a passionate pie. Would never ever support anybody else. It's a curse going for the pies. Black and white blood. Why don't you support another team? Just because I bag the team doesn't mean I enjoy it. I would rather they win ever single game and the premiership. You just can't handle the truth.
Anyways 7-1 to 7-3 is heading south in anyone's language. Going from top to 2nd or 3rd is heading south is it not?? Out of form and playing the bulldogs next week at Etihad is a likely loss isn't it? and I'm not a moron - I have a an undergraduate degree so there,

Most of my favourite bands start with "M" - Mars Volta, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Midnight Oil, Misfits...except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard ~
