But six weeks ago lots here were saying how wonderful he was and how lucky we were to have got him. What has changed?

Well Nick Davis didnt do much last night either. Was really a decoy for most of the night. Kicked one goal for the game that admittedly did hurt us but carried on like a fool and that will come back to haunt him. I mean he does a dumb article sucking up and then carries on like an idiot.

I think people gave Woewodin a chance and wernt still mourning over Nick Davis unlike others. Woewodin hasnt been impressive so far it would be fair to say. I just think he should be given a run for Willy to regain his confidence and work out the best position for him to play to get the most out of himself for the Collingwood Football club.

Whatever happened to earning a place in a football side?

One's paypacket should not come into whether he gets a game or not - neither that or but he is/was/can be a star, or he has won a Brownlow or anything.

Woey is in a bit of a slump and on his form of late, I think Willy would be good for him - he isn't getting sent to the away never to be seen again or anything like that. It is just the reserves.....!

We all know what he can do. He just needs to get back into it. When he does, we'll all be happy.

I agree with you, I said that he may need a run in the Reserves so he can see that he's playing badly. See at Melbourne, he played badly adn stayed in their side most times because they had no one to replace him in the middle. So, I think that Woey needs a small run with Williamstown because we need him playing like he can, he has a lot of talent, and he's not showing it.

Buckley_King you're comments on Woewodin are too harsh.
I know he's playing poorly but he's got a few mates with him at the moment who are playing alot worse than he is.
We're only 6 games into the season and people are writing players off.
Give him time and he'll come good.
Another thing Buckley_king ...duds don't win Brownlows.

i'd much prefer to 'waste' our no.14 draft pick on a good, solid, brownlow medallist than on a kid from what was acknowledged as a poor draft.

and can we all stop this simple theory of giving players a 'run at willi'? anyone who actually goes to willi will realise just how bad the standard is. playing in the VFL won't do much at all to help senior players out of form slumps.

Thats a fair point as i havnt been to a reserves game for quite a while to see the standard of the games. I kind of stopped going when the name Collingwood was dropped. I cannot bring myself to cheer for a bunch of seagulls.

However if a player isnt playing well are we a good enough team to carry them during a form slump?? Is it fair on the other players ??

The only difference is, at 1/4 time, instead of fighting over orange wedges, they fight over hot chips.

:P

Woey will do alright. Remember he was involved with Melbourne's complete and utter shambles of game play. He will take some time to get into the Pies rhythm. Seems to be caught flatfooted too often.

although i agree that he'll come good, surely hes had long enough to get used to our style of play by now - hes had training over summer, the pre-season comp and 6 rounds of real footy.
hopefully all the players who are struggling a bit atm will step up next week in adelaide.

I like Woey a lot. I thought he showed some good signs in the Wiz cup. He's been a bit up and down through the rounds, but so has a lot of the boys. I hope he can find some good form soon.

Why not try playing him of the half-back line like he did in his Brownlow year?I don't think he has played there for a full year since winning the medal.I think we would look better (at least quicker) with Wowey & Lones coming off half back. They both run hard, kick long & useally straight.
