Too many question marks over his head to be taken in the top 10.
Is Garlett ready to step straight into a senior side?

I know very little about him other than what has been said on here. From all reports he sounds like a superstar just waiting for his head to screw on properly.

Shame we don't have any second round picks to get him. I know we're undergoing a culture change but i feel any club can handle at least one lose cannon (We handled our 2010 campaign with several) and as a second rounder he'd be a steal by the sounds of it.

But at pick 10. I just don't think it would sit comfortably with too many and your right stupied too many question marks at that price. Still must be tempting though.

There's no doubt really that on talent alone, most clubs would pull the trigger, even in the top 10. He has now played two seasons with Swan Districts, and in many teams would walk in to their 22 without too many issues.

Earliest he will go is with the Hawks first pick in the second round imo. If there's one club that he would do just about anything to be a part of it would be them, since he has grown up barracking for them (as evidenced on his FB page).

I reckon Clarkson knows it too, which is why the hawks seem to be keen on picking him up.

If the Hawks don't pick him up with their first pick I reckon Essendon will pull the trigger at 26. They will be willing to take the risk since the draft is shallow and they missed out on any first round picks. They will be rapt if they can get a top ten talent player for the loss of Crameri.

My tip is the Hawks at 24 though.

Hawthorn will take him at 24 if he's still there.

However you'd think Brisbane will all there 2nd round selections would be stupid not to take him at pick 22 given he is worthy of a first round selection on talent alone.

If we had of received an end of round 1 compo pick for Thomas instead of pick 11 I would have wanted us to call out Garletts name with that selection.

Nah I reckon Brisbane would be a little too wary of the go home factor after this seasons exodus. Hawks at 24 I reckon.

Well here's hoping its Brisvegas who roll the dice.

As a player group i would lose some sleep over having to shut down Rioli, Hill and Garlett,

Lets hope someone trumps the hawks. Filthy mongrels pick up whoever they want with minimal effort. Makes me sick.

^Then we pinch one off them with C Young and he breaks down and we get 2 games out of him. Annoying.

So I guess the general consensus is Bontempelli & Freeman. I reckon that's right on the money, would love to have both of them at the pies! Rumors going around that Melbourne are very keen on him with their selection 9 which I'm hoping is just that - a rumor!

Bontempelli with no.6 and C. McCarthy with no.10 and (hopefully) Jake Kelly with no.67.

I like the sound of freeman but do to think they would pass up on Lennon if he was still there?

With one of Aish or Scharenberg likely to slip to 6 it's not a fait accompli that Hine will take Bontempelli at 6.

It's going to be intriguing come draft day what Hine will do with our first pick, with it all depending on how highly he actually rates Bontempelli(assuming he's still there) compared to the names above or indeed someone else.

If he decides on Bontempelli at 6 the one small bonus is that Brisbane or Melbourne will find it hard to overlook any slider like Aish and this will give us greater odds of snaring the player we want at 10.

Of course in the unlikely situation they to overlook the slider it gives us the opportunity to snare an elite top 3-5 talent at pick 10.

P.S-As we haven't had a top 10 pick in the national draft for a while now I haven't taken enough notice of how the draft works these days but am I right in thinking that the top 10 selections are made behind closed doors with the top 10 then identified in reverse order to the public?

That will suck if true as I'd rather see the selections made in order from 1 to 10 and wait with nervous energy hoping other clubs don't select the player I've got my heart set on before our selections come around.

I find it hard to see aish not going to the saints and scharenberg to the brions. Surely we'd take either of them if available?
