Some general comments and observations based on watching the first half live and the last quarter and a bit on the youtube stream.
DeGoey is ready to go. He is explosive, worked hard and played a team game. Watching him rip the ball out of packs and just explode forward with a burst of acceleration was great.
Fas and Billy looked like Fas and Billy. See no reason why they shouldn't be available for selection and back in the team.
Mayne seems to have re-gained a yard of pace and his decision making. Seemed to be focused on playing as a distributer, almost every time he got the ball he was very quick with hands or feet to give off to (mostly) advantage. I think others are ahead of him but could still play a role if needed.
Daicos is silk.
Tyler Brown is smooth. Very good overhead, excellent by foot, good decision making, reads the play beautifully and just glides over the ground. Pencil him in as a wing once he puts some muscle on.
Wills is a beast at stoppages, as is Sier but Wills is ahead of him at the moment. He is also a thumping straight kick and near key position in size. Only thing I think he needs to work on to get regular AFL time is to be quicker to offload the ball by hand when barging through bodies.
Lynch is a big unit and works hard. Lot of potential there.
McClarty is not a ruckman, but shows some potential as a KPP.
Blair is a fox terrier who thinks he's a Rottweiler. I admire his effort and work ethic but his brain keeps writing cheques his body can't cash. Leave in the VFL.
That's about it. Good to see Grundy, Aish and a couple of others up in the grandstand watching the game. Bucks was having a good chat with the coach as they were heading downstairs at half time and all seemed positive.
Apologies to WPT, I didn't see the message til I got home.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Yes I was there that day at Vic Park.Pies4shaw wrote:Not since the great St Kilda teams of the late 70s and early 80s.colin_wood wrote:Far out I don't think I have ever seen a Collingwood team score over 200
As I recall the scores were:
31:21: 207
3:11: 29
Think it may have been the first game of one Peter Daicos.
