Another ridiculous umpiring system takes the ball from Brisbane, just as they were to go inside 50 - ball goes the other way. Footscray lead by 6 points. 1.44 to go.

And, as expected, a free gets paid to Footscray at the next centre bounce. They get a point and lead. 35 seconds left. Footscray will win.

Fagan with a horrible finals record of 1 win and 5 losses.

Quite a lot of booing at the final siren. I'm not surprised - Fagan would have been within his rights to call his players off.

I'm sick and tired of seeing games decided by the umpiring like that. It completely ruins the spectacle.

That final free kick out of the centre bounce to Western Bulldogs was pretty dodgy…BUT

FABULOUS game!

I agree. Brisbane lost this game due to umpiring decisions. 1 point margin, you can definitely say that the umpiring bias towards WB cost Brisbane the game. Bulldogs could throw the ball around with abandon, never get pinged.
Disgusting umpiring performance. Fagan would be devastated

Yes. I can't stand Brisbane but it's shameful to see finals decided like that. It wasn't the first time and won't be the last but it doesn't make it any less disappointing to see a contest ruined. It had to be a ruck contest, too, that cost Brisbane the game - English was thrashed pointless all night but got the free that mattered.

The entire umpiring squad has been a disgrace for weeks, if not months. I would like to see an ex coach (not Gieschen) take over and say "This is what we want, not what you want".

As Collingwood supporters we all know about the umpiring mistakes that always go against us. Now Brisbane can know what it’s like to be oh so close but oh so far. That’s football!

I really like Fagan as a coach. He has guided a team from nowhere to Premiership contention in a very short time.
He has a rapport with his players that galvanises them. The kind of rapport I am thinking our new coach will engender.
He wears his heart on his sleeve, like all empathetic coaches do.
Tonight, BL was absolutely screwed by incompetent umpiring.
I feel for him. I feel for the Lions, because they were quite simply robbed tonight.
I feel for them, simply because
a) i can only imagine how I would feel if it had been Collingwood tonight suffering the consequences of such pathetic umpiring
b) I like Fagan.
