i agree 100% that we need an injection of skill, but why would you drop lonie in doing this?

so he's not a gavin brown, big deal - his kicking is simply beautiful to watch.

I thought Trav was actually pretty good on Monday night.

He presented all night, took a few grabs on the lead and kicked a monster goal. Arguably better than Taz and Rocca in my opinion.

The delivery into our forward 50 was atrocious, so give the boys up there some grace.
There are so many site rules and regulations I no longer know what I can and can't put in this signature.

Because we have to have a hard line on these things we already accept too much mediocrity as is.
No one expects him to be G.Brown, but on mon night he was about 2m away from a loose ball he then saw a crow running flat out at him and slowed up to let the crow player take possesion, instead of getting the ball himself. That play resulted in a cRow goal.

Has Pendles fully recovered from galandular fever? If he has, then put him in I say. As for Lokyer, sure he picked up 25 touches, but is it my imagination or has he become the role model for soft players. Oppositon players seem to role past him like he isnt there, and he goes to groud way too easily.

I would not be putting in C Cloke, not if we want to improve our kicking anyway.

He will provide a crash and bash forward and 2nd ruck we need some aggresion. His kicking at goal isn't that bad he just needs to not rush when field kicking.

Do we need more height in the forward line? I think we need more run. Wow, what a move getting rid of Heath Scotland. Ok sorry lets not get into that again.

If you were to drop players who had a shocker on Monday then you'd have to drop 18 players including Taz , Pebbles & Lica .
Now we all know that isn't going to happen & it's hard to imagine that Taz , Pebbles & Lica would put in two shockers in a row - I'd drop Egan ,
Richards ( if Fanning or C2 is fit ) & bring back S. Burns .

But it won't be more height when you combine it with the other changes.

Yeah but i cant see them dropping Richards, because the plan all along has been to have him and fraser as the ruck duo. Personally i thought his ruck work was pretty good, its just that he has a bit of trouble marking a 15 metre uncontested mark, which i admit is a bit of a worry, but im thinking maybe he can improve that.

Pendles has shown in his games with willy he is nothing but class he may be a bit under done but all that means is you play him off the bench.

Also all players that consistantly turn the ball over and there is a few of them, should be dropped until they get there act together.

IN - OUT

S.Burns - B.Johnson (learn to kick)
H.O'brien - J.Clement (injured)
C.Cloke - T.Cloke (find some form)
H.Shaw - G.Richards (Can't stand up let alone play)
S.Pendlebury - C.Egan (go in harder)
B.Caracella - R.Lonie (needs to grow a pair of balls)

Ben Johnson had the most effective kicks on the ground (of both teams) against the crows mate, not sure it follows that he has to learn to kick after a game like that. Agree his kicking sometimes lets him down, but it didnt on monday

Burns has to come in full stop...to classy not to play.
OBrien should play as well, but Jimmy i think will play too, so drop someone else.

T.Cloke had a crap game, but a good first qtr...more than we can say for Rocca and Taz. He marked everything that came his way, and kicked a nice goal. It was pretty much after that that the midfield delivery dried up, and he faded.

Pendles for Egan...i like that, but dont expect him to go in hard from what i hear...Pendles can be a bit of a receiver (but i stand to be corrected) but at least he has silky disposal....Egan doesnt... a good move.

Lonie and Caracella both need to grow a pair of balls, but at least they can both kick.

watching mondays game, im pretty happy with the side in terms of game plan and attack on the ball.

I think we had 33 tackles to 14 at one point, and we wernt being dominated in terms of possession at that stage either, and we were winning the clearances.

What let us down more than ANYTHING else was poor disposal. I saw Lonie shirk twice...but thats not what cost us the game. Missing targets did.

And while im sick of Lonie's pussy-attitude, i think the side needs to be stacked with good kicks.

That means Burns, Caracella and maybe Pendles in (although you cant expect both silky skills and an impact in a first game).

However Caracella never gets enough of the ball to use his nice skills, so maybe leave him out.

I actually noticed as well, that Johnson's kicking was actually pretty good on monday nights.
What does everyone think about Swan. Do u think there there should be a starting spot for him in the team?

He had 8 clangers as a stat , Ilove his attack on the footy but we can't let players turn the ball over or kick to the wrong option's week in week out.
Although "clangers stat" doesn't always tell the full story as with o'bree he usually only gets a clanger stat of 3-5 but that doesn't include the kicks and handpasses that he does to players already underpressure or the ones that go forward 30m get spoiled cause they are up and under and rebound for a goal.( I thought O'bree played well though on monday night FWIW.)
