“I sat in the car crying a fair bit, I was the one who was unsure what was happening beyond football, with life.”

“When I was transitioning out of footy it was almost like a grieving stage for me and leaving that behind and not knowing who I was as a person and just not understanding the feelings and emotions that came with that.”

^What a fantastic and meaningful story. You can see the depth to him; such an interesting guy who brings that X-factor and desire to the team.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Markov's father is Dmitri Markov (2001 pole vault world champ).

Didn't realize that!

Oleg Markov is a Collingwood premiership player.

Imagine saying that at the start of the year

Incredible journey and fantastic article up above

So I assume we've got to drop someone from the list for him to remain next year?

An incredible story, a typically Collingwood story Ed.
I don't pretend to know what next year holds in store for our flag list but if courage, commitment and playing for the jumper mean anything in modern football there should be a place for leggy.

Him bringing down Rayner in a fierce tackle was very, very important - the Bears tried to monster Collingwood physically and he was hard as nails at a crucial moment. I don't mean to diminish his other efforts by any means - but that one was premiership football.

Just so wonderful.
He now has a Premiership medallion, after being delisted by both Richmond and GC.
He played a great GF. Pies4shaw mentioned his tackle on Raynor. His defensive effort to prevent Callum Brown from gaining possession and instead booting the ball into our F50 was also an amazing highlight.
Free Julian Assange!!
