Gonna be a slog, Ginnivan will be sub and will be injected at some point.
If it’s a long wet slog not sure it makes sense for cox to play. Give him another week. Play small.
Hoping for some payback either way!!

Not sure about dropping Ginnivan; he does make something out of nothing to borrow an overused term. Even if he’s not kicking goals he’s contributing to them. In that last quarter it was a composed kick to Johnston for that great goal that started the comeback.
Still, we’re gunna need Cox’s height. I think it’s a mistake to think you just need short guys on wet days. Cox’s issue is lack of match practice.
I hope we smack this protected club that is Sidanee with their biased academy and more favourable draw than Collingwood despite finishing above us, friggin’ AFL.
May they go the way of the Tasmanian Tiger.

Ginny’s main issue is his lack of current form and as a result, confidence. A stint in the seconds is important to deal with this problem. He’ll be fine.watt price tully wrote:Not sure about dropping Ginnivan; he does make something out of nothing to borrow an overused term. Even if he’s not kicking goals he’s contributing to them.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm

We seek vengeance for that PF.
I am confident that we will play with retribution in the blood.
Cox I think will play as second ruckman with Frampton (the same role as he has with Darcy Cameron). His height around the ground will be massive for us. It will allow us to re-establish the structure that we we had before the complete decimation of our ruck division.
Apart from Lippa, our midfield is at full strength with Pendles back, with Tay and Tom Mitchell.
I am happy too that we are including Oleg Markov. He adds extra dynamism and pace to our defence, playing almost like John Noble Mark(ov) 2.
It will be very exciting to see Johnson able to spend all his time as a key forward with Checkers, and with Cox occasionally floating forward as well.
Ginni is unlucky to miss, but someone had to make way. I guess, with 4 small forwards, it was logical to select a small forward to be the one to miss out.I think it was out of Hill and Ginni as to who it would be.
I am not sure who I would select as sub. I don't know that it should be Ginnivan - we already have 3 small forwards. I think I would go with Will Kelly again. I really like what I have seen from Will so far, and I want to see him get more opportunities for AFL game time.

Here is an interesting Sydney Swans article about Paul Williams and Magpie trade connections over the years.
"Paul Williams wore the colours of five AFL clubs as a player and coach but,
publicly at least, he is a totally neutral fan. He has no choice because he sits on the AFL tribunal."
Article goes on about Williams' playing journey and also mentions other trade connections
and Swans/Collingwood common players:
* James Clement
* Brodie Holland
* Nick Davis
* Rhyce Shaw
* Darren Jolly
* Jesse White
* Tony Armstrong
* Darcy Cameron
* Tom Mitchell
Other brief mentions re current Magpie team to play Swans this Sunday;
* Josh Daicos, Steele Sidebottom, John Noble
* Brody Mihocek, Bobby Hill, Jordan deGoey, Beau McCreery
* Ash Johnson, Nick Daicos , Darcy Moore

The Swans will be using this as a turning point game. All smarts to the wheel.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Interesting. No mention of Andrew Schauble. Played 79 games for us and then was traded to Sydney in 2000. Won their best and fairest in his first year. Was a real talent. Not sure why we traded him.Take_a_Screamer wrote:Here is an interesting Sydney Swans article about Paul Williams and Magpie trade connections over the years.
