I like Eric Hipwood.
Let's get him before Geelong does (Hawkins is 34yrs old).

This is a very strong list of free agent candidates.
I see three players here who we can use and who I would have in our best 22 tomorrow and we should go after them. Not that these guys would leave their current clubs but at least have a crack at them.
1. Eric Hipwood - KPF who is improving dramatically. Was excellent in the finals this year and that means a lot.
2. Harry Himmelberg - Versatile medium forward. Checkers won't last forever, and we need talented forwards.
3. Mason Redman - Tough defender. Could free up Bruz to start intimidating oppo mids.
Parish and McKay are also standouts, and I wouldn't say no to them, but I'd go for the other three first.
Season 2023 is going to be an interesting year. I think we will shift significantly but whether it is up or down I don't know. Will all those close wins become big wins or close losses? Such an unknown. This will be a very long off-seson.

The problem in getting Hipwood is that it would be a massive uphill battle.
His parents are nutcase Saints supporters (the got married at Moorabbin Oval ffs).He grew up in Queensland and joined the Lions academy at age 13. This screams of a big dislike for the CFC. Money talks I suppose.

Re: 2023 Free Agency List
Like every year there's some big names, who are mostly way to old to consider.
Probably a bit late to bring Rory Sloane over as a player, but would love to see him come over as a coach when he retires.
Sam Docherty or Jack Silvagni would cause a big stir. But wont happen. Darcy Parish or Mason Redman would be the best targets imo, followed by Harry Himmelberg and Ben McKay. But most of the best targets are signed up well before seasons end. Sam Draper was on this list a few weeks ago.
From our own lads; Crisp will sign up throughout the year. Cox, Howe and Pendles will either retire or go one more. Murley may be delisted if not resigned.
So year, with Pendles and Steele getting a bit older and with Adams injury concerns, I think Parish would be the one to throw money at. And he's still just 25.
McKay as a 200cm key defender would be a clear target too. But comes with a worrying injury history. Himmelberg as a key forward is also one to watch.

Someone please correct me I’m wrong but
1. Didn’t Sidey just sign a 1yr deal for 2023
2. Didn’t Pendles have a 2yr deal (2022/23) with a option in his favour for 2024
Crisp will be re signed for sure
I think Howe might call it quits
Cox will be 50/50 and a lot will depend on how our younger talks improve in 2023
