Club will still have the money, but they have always played out the year then sorted out the contract, why change it now?

Besides results at the end of the year might play a part in the decision. If the team slides and finishes 7th or 8th and gets knocked out week 1, it might be time to move on because the window is closing. Win the flag and you would be far more likely to stay
That's side by side right there, shocking year with injuries, Cloke (and others) poor form, miss the flag so you jump ship, nice.
Oh absolutely, players must show 100% loyalty till the end of their lives, should all be 1 club etc. Supporters need not show any loyalty to the players and the club sure as hell doesnt to anyone but players are expected to be different...

What a crock of shit

I confidently predict Travis will be a massive grossly over paid flop at his new club, regardless who it is. Mr 1 goal 5 behinds isnt going to kick any straighter now, hes past learning the art of kicking for goal now. I also reckon his marking will slump bigtime, he seems to have lost any idea of contested marking, and he will struggle to get that back.

What if he plays like last years form or the 3rd quarter v West Coast this year?

He could be playing possum now.

Whatever, I will miss him as he is still one of the best power forwards in the league.

Usually it takes a long time to cultivate power forwards.

As their bodes need to grow in the position.

Forget this years form as Travis Cloke is simply not trying.

Remember last years form when he was AA.

There are not many restricted free agents who are Power Forwards.

Whatever you say; losing Travis Cloke (in last year's true form) is a dent to our team.

If/When Cloke Signs With The Pies

Post by Brenny »

Howdy,

Just quick question to the Collingwood faithful out there, more so the ones pissed off with the David, I mean Travis Cloke, for this whole negotiation period.

If Cloke signs 1 week after our final game, is everybody going to instantly forget about this whole saga and love him again?

I was thinking about this today and I admit I don't think he will sign with the Pies, in fact I don't have any bloody idea.

But I was thinking, if he did sign, would I like him, like I did prior to this whole contract saga?

I personally don't know, but I assume I would be on here in a heart beat saying 'never in doubt' and 'all you doubters take a look at yourself'.

So my question is, if he did sign how would you, as a pissed off supporter who loathes him for this whole period and think he's stuffing our chances at a premiership, feel about him?

Has he really played at all since the West Coast game?

His kicking for goal always distresses me. If he stays, I will continue to be distressed by it. If he goes to the Blooz, I will be less concerned about it.

I think people would still be upset.

But he has already refused our best deal.

So there is no coming back now.
