Unlike your precious little show-pony Billy did what was expected of him in a very disciplined performance, sacrificing his own game to stop one of Brisbane's best players having a big influence. What did your "superstar" achieve? (apart from make up the numbers).Piesnchess wrote:Gerry Cooper wrote:No contested possessions in a winning grand final team. Pies4shaw wrote:^ Absolutely. Without Frampton dropping uncontested marks directly in front of goal and thereby making it extremely difficult for Brisbane to take our forwards seriously, we could never have won that Grand Final.
As for Billy's repeated holds on Andrews on the outer wing - they were masterstrokes: the best way to unsettle an intercepting defence is to gift them the ball unopposed. He did that manfully.

Just so we're clear, my view is that we don't play favourites about premiership contributions. Otherewise, we quickly get into the area of asking whether so and so really deserved their medal at all. Frampton played a role. I have no idea whether he did it to the Coach's satisfaction - for all I know he might have exceeded expectations.Mr Miyagi wrote:when you put it like that, he deserved the norm smithPies4shaw wrote:^ Absolutely.
