The only thing I would add is, that the moment clubs seemed “ to figure him out as a forward “ was the moment he was involved in that betting scandal.
That’s quite a coincidence.

I think keeping Stevo is the way to go, but sheesh if pick 2 was involved, it has to be considered.
But surely there would need to be something else involved - they aren't going to give us pick 2 for Stevo alone..?
Yes, well thats the thing. Might have to include pick 16? next years first? another player - Sier? Phillips? Might end up being too much for a guy we took with pick 6 and won the RS award just three seasons back.
Remember, pick 2 will probably be pick three on the night.

Nah the AFL will find a way to screw us over and turn it into pick 73.

Not sure about this. You can't "figure out" blistering pace. He has an immense natural ability that you can't remove by just some clever tactic.
This year, our coaches insisted that he had to become a midfielder and smash his frail body in packs, rather than do what he does best :kick goals. They considered it to be far more important for Stepho to get extra variablity in his game, than it was for him to kick goals.

According to the media, North is showing interest in Stepho Also according to this same media outlet, Robert Harvey is applying for Rhys Shaw's former position as coach of North melbourne. Let's hope that North succeed in getting Harvey only.

So that's around pick 21? Plus we pay part of his wage? And we lose one of our inspiring young kids? Wow.

Nah, F that!
If we trade him, it has to include pick 2 somehow. If we keep Stevo, I'm happy with that too.
Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day for the Pies faithful and those here on Nicks!

And we're linked to a trade for 31 year old Neville Jetta and his 31 year old cousin Lewis ad a DFA.
Far out this time tomorrow could see some of us finally enter the nuthouse.

If we loose Stephenson for less than Nth's Pick 2 in the upcoming draft we are being bent over and giving away the farm. It will be terribly disappointing to lose such a talented player as Stephenson for anything other than a top 2 pick.
Kicking goals is the hardest thing in AFL football and Stephenson has demonstrated an abundance level of skill in being able to manufacture goals from limited opportunities.
Sure he had a relatively bad season this year and there were definitely periods of time that his attitude was less than perfect during Hub life. Maybe his personality is a bit awry from the likes of Pendlebury, but premiership teams are full of different characters. The only common theme in premiership football teams is that they are all bloody good footballers and despite their variance personalities they have been coached to perform as a team with the common goal of winning. The jury is still out on Nathan Buckley's ability to be a premiership coach by getting the most out of the talent at his disposal.
Given the present situation at Collingwood, I'm beginning to doubt that Buck's has the ability to drag the team to that common goal and ultimate outcome, albeit it might not be all Buckley's fault that Collingwood appears to have stuffed up the management of their salary cap.
That said if they are able to come out of the upcoming trading & draft period with Logan McDonald at the club all may be forgiven. If they could secure this young leviathan from Perth in the upcoming draft along with the highly rated Reef McInnes then secure the younger Daicos boy in next years draft the club may be well positioned with a depth of young talent that could well contend for premiership glory for at least the next couple of years. Here's hoping!!

Logan McDonald, Reef McInnes (both 2020) and Nick Daicos (2021) are the key words there.
Confident of Reef and Nick. Can't see how we get McDonald/top 4 pick.

Ridiculous.
Comparing the early output of Stephenson to the one-dimensional Jack Anthony is borderline insanity, too.
Explain where Stepho is multi-dimensional? He is a terrible defensive forward, a poor midfielder and not much of a backman either?
At this stage, all he is is a soft, downhill skiing small forward who shirks the contest.

Jack Anthony compared to Stephenson is a joke.
