From what we have seen so far there are no major deals and they want draft picks. Whether that is right or wrong will be known shortly.
I assume the salary dump is so that we remain within the cap, because we would otherwise be over it with the players that we currently have.

Clearly the structure / relationship in 2020 wasn’t working for Stephenson

Something has to give ... under current circumstances it ain’t going to be Buckley!

I can't help feel that if we get rid of Stephenson, it will be a demonstration of the failure of our coaching. Prodigious talents like this don't come along very often. When they do, especially when they are still so young, it is the job of coaches to nurture that talent and enable it to blossom.

Pick 11 or ge stays. Second rounder is too far unders. Once again Collingwood shoot themselves in the foot by shopping round so many players...also leaving all this stuff so late.

Pick 11....or keep him pies dont bend on this...North have the cap space...indeed they need to spend cap space so his money is not the issue.

Surely, Treloar/Phillips frees up enough. Or just how deep is this cap hole you have dug Collingwood?

They had better do some serious talking once the trade period is done

I haven't consumed the entire thread here and I know it seems like I'm picking on your post but genuinely, have you ever coached?

I agree that I'd be disappointed if we moved him on, I still marvel at his debut season and said many times this kid could be anything.

I have enough trouble trying to nurture my children let alone elite athletes.

I've been involved with very talented adolescent athletes, kids (to me) that were or showed signs of being elite at their event and they just gave it away. It's not easy, and despite your best efforts to encourage and provide support they find other interests or are distracted. I can't even imagine how hard it is to control someone who might be somewhat inclined to buck the trend and have free time and income to do just about anything they want.

Sometimes despite your best efforts, that's just the way it is.

Interesting..... North are going to package up two second rounders 26 and 33. Offer both or use them to get into the first round and offer that for Stephenson
