Spot on Stall! Sitting behind the goals - never ever seen pressure and speed of thought required so full on. And he was in the middle of it. Handled it well 9 out of ten contests. Way above expectations.
DaVe86 wrote:Sam Iles was fantastic. What you have to judge is confidence, pace, football know how etc. He displayed all of this. He showed a good understanding of when to run to receive, a good understanding of how the modern game is played and had some acceleration off the mark. On the flip side, he showed no ability over his head against a similar sized player in Bock (i think it was) who outmarked him twice up forward. But that will come with size and experience.
Fantastic debut against a quality side. Im excited about him
You rock Dave! It seemed when the ball was kicked in the air to those contests he lost an even position with Bode. Sam wasnt confident with the strength of his body to lay it on and maintain position. He will pick that up cos he wasnt scared.

Im excited too.

I think Sam Illes could be a better player than Scott Burns.

not 100% sure why we decided to blood a half back flanker (surely we have enough?)
He is more of a half back flanker-cum-ruck-rover type. A bit of a Lockyer/Nathan Brown (Melbourne). I'm happy with him, he seems the sort who could end up building a decent career.
Next.......Alan 'Tooves' Toovey
While I agree, where do we fit him in? :)

Our drafting of the past two seasons seems to have at least quietened the doubters. :)

We'll need to wait 15 years to make that assessment. SB has been a great servant to the club.

Well done to the lad I thought he tried his guts out, sure he made a few mistakes, but who wouldn't? Good luck to the kid.

Hee hee last week he was the worst selection in living memory, this week he's going to be better than Burns.

Kid has a very bright future on the weekend's showing and I reckon he should at least hold his spot. Don't worry about the missed targets early, thought the kid settled in and found his radar quite quickly by comparison to many.

On his performance so far, the chances of sam illes winning a brownlow seem to be pretty high.
He does all the right things that browlow medalists do and his hair is blonde.

It doesn't.... Sadly, i don't know that we'll be able to say Burnsy17 much longer - i recon this will be his last season.....

I hope i'm wrong, though.
