The forward line was a disgrace (apart from Dick), after a promising start.
I thought the backline stood up prett well, all things considered. And the midfield, other than Jolly & Fraser, were OK. Thought Swan & Pendles were very good.
Time for Leroy to go. I would rather be pumping games into Dawes. Geelong will win the flag by a mile anyway, so we may as well play these blokes, like Dawes JA & Wood (yes Wood - I'd rather him than Fraser now).
I don't know why people pick on Leroy so much - yes, he didn't kick a goal but he was the one whose tackle stopped the Melbourne bloke (can't remember his name) in the dying minutes and he does take it up to players and do his bit. I don't know why Dawes wasn't played but I would have played both. As for Jolly, he did more than Fraser today, which isn't saying much. I'd definitely drop Fraser for Wood, and bring in Goldsack if Maxwell isn't right after the break. Leon needs another spot in the 2's as well.
Because he's not the future. What we've seen is so far is the best he'll ever be. He wont take us to where we want to be. We are wasting time by playing Dawes in the seconds. Of course he's going to have games where he hardly touches it, that part of learning to play senior footy.
Pretty right there Dave, on all points, and i would add that Josh Fraser and his lack of form is a major concern for us, he just looks sad and lost, he has lost his zip bigtime, and we only really have Wood as backup. Some big points to ponder here over the break.

Hang on we`ve been there before,a $300,00 holiday goes a long way when you are recovering from a gruelling season
I want Mount Everest next time! Just think how much better that'll be for us at the pointy end of the season! Maybe the players could wear backpacks during the game to give themselves the "edge"! Look how we ran out the end of last year, we were stuffed. New coach and fitness staff needed thanks.
This holiday disguised as a fitness camp has no benefit, never has, never will. It's like the Japanese saying they hunt whales for science. No one believes it, it's rubbish.
Maybe a dozen rattle snakes in the rooms before the game might help?

Yeah I think Fraser is about Finshed and Wood should come back and give him time at AFL Level. Would be no worse than Josh
Since that posted twice, might as well do a little ranting, just to feel better
- Fed up with Queens Birthday Monday. Fed up propping up Melbourne and their "special effort". Coverage is always like a bloody membership ad, some combination of Walls/1/4s/Darcy/Blight is always openly barracking against us, it's a horrendous day. I wish we'd just scrap it, but no doubt the AFL would make us play it, just to prop up a miserable club who only usually try 2wice a year...
- We have started with our poor skills to make whoever is the spare man in defence look like a world beater. Firstly Staker, today Warnock! It's extraordinary.
- Even after 11 weeks, I felt as though Luke Ball was almost our on field leader. The guy who along with DT set an on field example with his grunt work. Gee we missed that today.
- Geez, though - I'm sick of mission statements, I'm sick of things being pinned to the wall, statements read like mantras - and then performances like today. Side by Side? I'd rather we stfu for a while to be honest. We'll trot someone out during the week to say "stick with us, it's just a flat spot" when the flaws are the same year in, year out. Poor goal kicking, poor ruck work, opposition able to break quickly off 1/2 back and put our defenders into exposed 1 on 1 situations....
I could go on and on, but to be honest, I'm really fed up at the moment. I'm not jumping off, but today was a real kick in the guts, that just make the doubts mount up...it's Groundhog Day all over again...

Steve Moneghetti was asked about this high altitude training and how it does it lift your performance to another level, His reply ( and i think he should know a thing or 2 about endurance), that to notice any SLIGHT increase in performance you need to spend at least 8 weeks doing it!
How long do the Pies spend on this end of year $330 000 junket?
10 Days!
