Never gotten over missing the 90 GF side.Piesnchess wrote:Yeah, but what is it with Brian Taylor, a 100 goal forward with us, he just sounds so idiotic and biased against the Pies at times, his hysterics in the first qtr made me mute the tele. Fair comment and unbias to neither side is one thing, but he seems to delight in it when we struggle.Donny wrote:Loved some of Bruce's lines:

Must be fun having him and Leigh Matthews co-commentating, then......jackcass wrote:Never gotten over missing the 90 GF side.Piesnchess wrote:Yeah, but what is it with Brian Taylor, a 100 goal forward with us, he just sounds so idiotic and biased against the Pies at times, his hysterics in the first qtr made me mute the tele. I've also noticed this. ..BT barracking for the other side. Calling for frees against us in marking contests etc etc when there is clearly nothing there.
He's openly stated he's a malthouse fan. I wouldn't be surprised if he also doesn't like Buckley, although I don't think they played together.
Either that or he tries to come across as impartial but he goes too far the other way.

his pressure has been phenomenal, particularly his tackilng.jackcass wrote:Bucks said on the ABC it was his best game for Collingwood and that his last 2 weeks have been great.Nearly wrote:I've read 3 out of 8 pages, so forgive me if it's been mentioned.
How good was Goldy? Reckon he'd get the coaches votes.
Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.

True, but wasn't the fat idiot who give him the arse from the side sitting within spitting distance of him in the commentary box yesterday?!jackcass wrote:Never gotten over missing the 90 GF side.Piesnchess wrote:...what is it with Brian Taylor, a 100 goal forward with us, he just sounds so idiotic and biased against the Pies at times, his hysterics in the first qtr made me mute the tele. We again kept a team to a low score. 3 goals in 3 quarters is excellent..
That type of defending wins games. It's Ross Lyon style defending results for a number of weeks now.
A solid defence will always keep us in the game.
We need to learn how to kick more goals from stoppages. We are too reliant on goals from opposition turn overs. Which is my theory on why the Hawks beat us. They don't turn the ball over much with excellent foot skills.

BT is probably going through the stage Shawry went through where he's surrounded by slimy Pies haters and is worried about his career.
His knackers will drop again.

What a wonderful game to go to. I feel very lucky to have gone & wonderful seats to boot.
The first quarter I thought was deja vu all over again.
But after that. Wow.
The silence during the last post / ceremony was great stuff.
"We" are lucky to play on Anzac day.
In terms of players - great team effort.
Pendelebury worked so damn hard. I felt you could really see how exhausted he was yet kept pushing himself even further. Simply masterful & given all the attention by not just Melcham but a lot of his team-mates "inflicted" on Pemdles.
I'm becoming increasingly impressed by our back line with the assistance given them by our mids & even forward line.
Young was critical with his booming dangerous left foot penetrating kicks.
The attack on the ball in the last 3/4rs was brilliant.
97 tackles is something else.
Go pies you made my day, my week, my month & given me hope.
After experiencing PTSD following the Fremantle game this was a wonderful anti-dote. I have more hope than I did way back then.

Top 4 Baby. Woooo hoooooooo!!!!
Great defence. Great pressure. Great Swannnny and @ 8-1 even better .
Can watch that second quarter over and over - The Collingwood way.
So very proud of all of them.
Anyone who doubts Maxwell, Blair, Goldy or Caff deserve their spot in this team - watch the second quarter comeback closely and you should understand why Bucks plays all of them.
Sweet sweet smashing of a bullshit club on a wonderful day.
5 & 2 at the break after playing the other top 7 teams from last year and with so much upside still.
Rip Carltank apart and believe.
We will be in this up to our necks this season. Maybe a year or two ahead of time but we have done this before and quite recently

Agreed. Not a big fan of he and Blair largely playing pressure roles, but Goldy's tackling has been really noticeable. Makes Blair more at risk of dropping out at this stage.John Wren wrote:his pressure has been phenomenal, particularly his tackilng.jackcass wrote:Bucks said on the ABC it was his best game for Collingwood and that his last 2 weeks have been great.Nearly wrote:I've read 3 out of 8 pages, so forgive me if it's been mentioned.

Correct on both counts. BT and Barney both loath Collingwood for the very reasons you suggest. Bruce can only be explained because he is like an excited school girl screaming with delight every play. I'm just amazed he hasn't applied for a sex change yet.Mugwump wrote:Must be fun having him and Leigh Matthews co-commentating, then......jackcass wrote:Never gotten over missing the 90 GF side.Piesnchess wrote: Yeah, but what is it with Brian Taylor, a 100 goal forward with us, he just sounds so idiotic and biased against the Pies at times, his hysterics in the first qtr made me mute the tele. And what the heck that baldheaded former Geelong captain is doing on the panel amazes me - unless Swisse are sponsoring his place on Seven.

No one annoys me like Tom Harley.
He gave MaCaffer's tactics a fair pasting against Cotchin yet you'd never hear him saying anything about Lingy (who actually wrapped his arms around his opponent at each stoppage) and young Guthrie for using similar tactics against Pendles, except for how wonderful they were.
Even a couple of years back when we were playing Geelong and Bruce asked Lethal who he's rather have in his side out of Pendles and Selwood. Matthews gave a considered answer and said Pendles for his height advantage and the danger he could pose if he drags his man forward but Harley who wasn't even asked nearly had a fit interrupting to blurt out "Selwood...I'd have Selwood".
Well duh Tom. You're such a biased wanker who even Bruce wouldn't bother asking you such a question to because the answer is so friggin obvious and blatant.
