Back to Murph … if someone in the club reads these posts, can they please show Murph the film of Broomhead breaking his leg on the goal posts?!

I’ve seen Murph go close twice in the past month and it JUST AINT WORTH IT!!

Save one goal or lose a career?

Definitely a bit Kamikaze at times, but love it.

Reminds me of the way Heritier Lamumba first played. Also the late Wayne “Flash” Gordon whom I loved as a player.

If you read his interview, it’s just another case of the perennial quote you hear so often when draftees come into the system.
“ I needed time to grow into my body “. It’s a reminder that we all need to give these young blokes a bit of time to fill out.
Murphy has very quickly become another one of our defenders you can trust to win or halve ( at worst ) a contest. One on one defenders like Quaynor, Maynard and Murphy provide the trust that others can peel off and get on the outside of these guys. He’s certainly become a very important cog, very quickly back there.

Most of all, I love he’s aggression.

I was going to suggest he's trending towards a blend of Michael Christian's temperament with Craig Kelly's courage.
Although I see Kelly's playing weight according to Wiki is stark in contrast to Murph's.

He’s a gun.
100% at every contest. That’s why he gets injured so much.
Proud to have him in the black and white!

Agree. Hine and his team did super well with Murph. Saw something that others did not.

Really impressed with him.

If he keeps improving and maintains his attacking style on the ball it won’t be long before he is spoken about as amongst the best defenders in the comp.

At 192cm and 97kg with that wiry frame, there's some serious muscle happening there.

He has been a big reason for our improvement this year, particularly after losing Roughead. What he lacks in height and strength against bigger forwards, he makes up for with courage, speed, mobility and aerial ability. Overall, we are a better structured defensive unit with him in it than we were without him.

Agreed on all counts. Hugely important for the prospects of this team.

Love Nathan Murphy. He is syncing so well in our D50. His courage is already legendary. His emergence as a defender has been a massive component of our success.

I have marked down the Whiplast in Hawthorn as the must-visit-often cafe. It is owned by him, Checkers, Callum, Roughead...
