Adams plays better than most of our players. Maybe all of them.

Adams 2013 will be better than Ball 2013, probably better than Ball 2012. Beyond that only time will tell.
How bad we played in that game. That would be pretty easy

if it is thought that Adams played well last year, ( i didn't watch them play so i personnally cannot vouch for it), then he will be double the player this year, a year older, another pre-season, and with Pendles, Swan and Beam beside him.

Logically, I agree that you are right. However I wish to limit myself to having totally realistic expectations I would have of any other second year player in the AFL. Otherwise the danger is that we might set him up for failure to live up to our lofty (OOT) expectations.
I think he will play a few VFL games in a steep learning curve at Collingwood.

^3rd year now. He's already played his 2nd year. And he won't be playing in the Magoos. We didn't recruit a kid with 2 seasons of good quality senior footy under his belt to play VFL.

Ball is more likely to play reggie reserves than Adams IMO

No I disagree. I think to learn Collingwood's game plan and systems, Adams might start in the reserves. Time will tell I guess......

I highly doubt that.

I doubt we play a Player we traded for Heater in the 2nds

He has 4 months of preseason for that. The only way he won't be playing round 1 is if he's injured.

Adams will be a walk up start for round one....no iffs, no buts, no maybes. :)

I completely agree. The only thing that will keep Adams out of the side for round 1 is injury, but he's ready to go in my view.

He's going to be an absolute gem for the club in the next decade. Mark my words we've done well to recruit this kid in the first place. It was sad losing Heater, but this trade is a clear win for us.

I think we've got a real beauty here. If we drafted this guy - without injury - at number 6 in the draft we'd be upset if he wasn't a walk up start in the 22.

I think his best football is in front of him, but he's got a spot in the 22 in the HF line IMO.

When he really earns his stripes is when he takes the "best extractor" spot from Ball or Beams in the midfield. But he will.

I think a midfield of Beams / Freeman / Adams and Sidebottom will be the next awesome foursome... But hopefully we'll have another couple of premierships with Pendles and Swannie by then!!

Back to the original post - this kid is a walk up start. I'm not sure why (maybe because he's from GWS) but no one really rates him, but he's class, like first 18 class, and will be in the midfield mix class. He can only get better too!

Agree. Competition for senior 22 spots will be extremely tight come round 1 but can't see Adams missing out on the squad. He should be ahead of Kennedy, Broomhead, Ramsay and the 2013 recruits in terms of his development. You can see 2 of Adams, Blair, Dwyer and Fasolo competing for the same spots and the Blair / Adams combo is pretty hard to go past.

Adams Dominating over Pre-Season

READY TO FLY

The Pies have only had a limited first-hand look at Taylor Adams but are convinced he will make a big impression in 2014 - and beyond.

The 20-year-old was the club's No. 1 option through the trade period and he looms as an automatic starter, spending time in attack and the midfield.

Adams showed his class when he had 30 touches against the Suns in the Giants' last home-and-away game this year.
Sounds Like he could have a Massive Season as All Media Outlets saying how well he is doing thru the Pre-Season.

Very Exciting to see how he goes next season

A great recruitment for the club. Sad that we lost Shaw but Adams will easily make up for the loss though.

He's going to be an absolute gem for us and I think he's a great pick up by the club in my view. I love his determined attitude and the toughness he displays around the contest on top of his great disposal efficiency. Will be in the top 6 for the Copeland in my opinion.

Agree. Adams is a Great Recruit but we did have to pay a Big Price with Heath Shaw.

But Adams looks a Gun so we got something great in Return
