That's a bit rich. the 4 games is irrelevant. It's actually six months and that can be an eternity for a veteran.
The fact that is six months is irrelevant. The veterans haven’t had the usual time off due to the early start of the season but will return to form in a vengeance and perform better than ever to make the hack journos have egg on their ugly faces. The best is yet to come and Collingwood will continue to be a force. But having said that, I think the Swans are certainties this year, playing awesome football and having a good draw. Mark my words, they will win the flag.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

Surprisingly the most improved performer on the field was Frampton, who was also in the GF team from last year because he knew it was his chance to solidify his place in the team.

Elliot more midfield time and need the Cruise Missile in the forward line as soon as hes back from injury.

I think we missed WHE a bit to be honest - probably highlighted Sidey a bit more.

Disappointed to lose, but not the end of world. Certainly a new challenge for the coach and super keen to see how he tackles it. His presser was the most pointed we’ve seen him I reckon.

The positive is that we can’t play much worse can we? We were pretty diabolical. Hard to imagine less output and or errors from our best 8-10 players.

The better takeaways IMO were:

Reef showed plenty - much more dynamic that Ash
Josh Daicos finally showed up
Darcy Cameron delivering
Schultz showing he was the right pickup

Also:
-Couldn’t believe how much holding goes unpaid…
-Jordy will get tagged every week now - especially if Nick can’t get off the chain as a result
-still couldn’t find room for MacRae to start? Puulleeassse…
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

It is an unhealthy reliance on an ageing warrior we need more from other players to step up und take the mantle away from Pendles for contested possessions, clearances, ground ball gets and inside 50 score involvements.
Correcto.
He mightn't be at the same level as he was in his halcyon years but he's still giving us good output. 20 possessions and 5 tackles is a bit quiet but still too much for us to just throw away because he isn't what he once was.
Probably a good head to have around the clearances for Macrae at the moment too.

Every one of the other 17 clubs could only dream to have experienced the joy of the last 2 seasons we did as Pies fans. It was elation after elation, culminating in the ultimate joy in late September.

Cycles come and go and yes, we have started badly. But we are actually not that far off. We are still fighting out games. Our 3rd quarters though are a mess!

Have faith Pies fans, we can turn this around! We've been spoiled with success over the last 2 years and now it's time to hang tough.
spot on.
last night was a real WTF.
have other teams worked us out and are using the tactics against us with younger, fitter players?
the kids including Naicos floundered a bit.
the older guys looked knackered and shell shocked.
in my facebook feed i was getting ready for round one this weekend a couple of years ago. we had to start the season early, as did brisbane, play interstate, as did brisbane, and now 3 games with 6 day breaks, and back to interstate. WTAF!!
this is the way the AFL treats its cash cow? 22k in sydney, we would have filled the G!
as for last night, no we didnt play well. But... if jordy was paid for holding, there is a goal, if Moore doesnt do his whoopsie, its 1 point, and you cannot tell me that 15 extra free kicks dont equate to more than a point. yes, it probably deserved to be lopsided, but not like that.
this is not the first time playing in a "hero" game for another club has cost us the game due to bias.
****, **** all. no more.
they treat us like crap.
it truly is time for US AGAINST THEM!

side by side xx

Well said T P, yep. im so over us being the Leagues **** cow, so over it now. As somene said to me on another Magpies site, " mate, smell the coffee, the AFL is totally corrupt, totally, get used too it." He has a point. :o
Sick of us being the AFL's cash cow? Well, stop paying for it.

Last word on ex Saint player Fisher, the main yellow maggot, did he award himself the 3 votes for BOG for the Saints, it was sure his finest match ever for St Kilda.
