Smells to me like the club is trying to kill all speculation to take the talk off the agenda and relieve Trav of pressure.
Would not surprise if the stance by the club causes the deal to be done sooner rather than later.
Here's hoping anyway.
Hopefully it works for Travis, and maybe he can prove his worth.
