Good luck to his tax agent, they will definitely earn that money.
My understanding is that our salary arrangement is only with Melbourne.

If anything, Melbourne is in a bigger bungle as to how they manage this and whether they look to offload him.

So Melbourne pay us 900k a season for Grundy to play in the VFL?

I don't hate that idea... I don't know that it's a good idea, but I don't hate it either...

Hmmmm... not sure, but if we can win the Premiership, I have a hunch that Mason Cox may well decide to call it a day and retire. Like his eyes and all that. So, to get Grundy back would not be all bad, I guess, as there would be a spot for him. Or maybe we should look at this De Koning, that seems to be a ruckman who wants a home. Just saying. :o
Interesting hunch...

But if we're really serious about getting another ruckman, we'd have to ask Freo about Sean Darcy. Freo have a Melbourne problem too, just not as bad. Darcy and Jackson getting in each other's way. (It's not as bad 'cos Jackson has played much better than Grundy. That's not hard, of course. But some Jackson games have been very good.) Cornes and co. have been saying Darcy needs to find a new home.

Yes, and under Ross the Boss, still NO flag. And another year for them rolls by., and 1966 still lingers on, and on, and on, and on. Were it not for Jim Odea, I would pity them, but I cannot. :o :P

Darcy would need to get off the bread rolls to play a role in this team. He was left for dead a few times by Cox, once in particular letting Mason drift into the forward line leaving some Lilliputian trying to do the job Darcy should have been doing.

FWIW, I think Cox will play on anyway

He looks like he enjoys the cakes and pastas too much; I wouldn't hold that against him!

But he did get that niggle injury early in the game - perhaps he couldn't chase as well as expected under this circumstance?

Simple Simon babbling on radio today, that hes a required player, they want him, not going anywhere, he will learn a forward craft, blah blah blah, sounded as re assuring as that gold coast head honcho, who said a few days before sacking Dew, that Dew is their coach, and he fully supports him into next season . !

Geebung reported to have offered Sean Darcy a 5-year deal.

Sydney have offered De Koning an 8-year deal. But the 3 clubs chasing him believe he'll re-sign with Carlton. Carlton-supporting journo Sam M. reckons that's too much loyalty. He should take the 8 years.

And, yeah, Darcy was injured. Freo talking about debuting their kid ruckman next game so they can leave Jackson forward.

All Goodwin had to do was phone up anybody at Collingwood, who would have told him you can't play both Gawn and Grundy out of the center. Neither have any forward capability. Both need to play the majority of their time out of the center. Cameron and Cox compliment each other because both have forward craft. With Grundy he can't jump either, so how does Goodwin expect Grundy to jump for marks in the forward line? Trade to St Kilda makes sense. Better still Port Adelaide should make a play for him next year. Wherever he goes, that should end the wage subsidy Collingwood has to pay him.
But why are StK interested in another ruckman? :?:

They have Marshall. They want two rucks after all the problems other clubs have had trying to play two?

If Grundy went to StK, he'd be 2nd ruck behind Marshall. Look at what happened when Melb played StK two weeks ago.

Lloyd says "Gawn and Grundy should be fearing Marshall".
Matthew Lloyd nailed that one. (Was it easy?)

"In the two games since, Gawn and Grundy have kicked only one goal between them, and last week they were well beaten by St Kilda’s Rowan Marshall, who polled seven of a maximum 10 coaches’ votes."

Sean Darcy had ankle surgery and is out for the rest of the season. :!:

Yep, "niggle"... Yep, hard to run "under this circumstance"...

Yup. Club's given him a new 2-year contract. And he doesn't seem the kind of person who wouldn't see out a contract. Prolly he'll only retire when no more contracts are offered.

Port lack ruck depth, so I could see him going there if the price was right for Melbourne.
Would be so typical after he refused to leave Melbourne when we could have got such a better deal...

But did  @ Melbourne thinking he can become a forward. If he had any forward ability whatsoever then he may not have been dumped from the Pies.

As for the contract, if what's been reported is true. we didn't pay anywhere near 250k p.a and its all paid off this year. So not sure if we are paying 90% of his wage this year to play VFL  and Melbourne picks up the full million the next 4 years or if he's getting paid 1.75 million this year to play VFL...
If Grundy had any forward ability, Jarrod Witts wouldn't have been dumped from the Pies

If Greedy leaves MEL, does our contract with him end?
