I hope he is a better man than he appears, and puts the furture of Travis above those of his media popularity. All of us at Collingwood want him to stay however, we would all prefer he finds a place to find his talent again regardless of the club.

There are no Collingwood supporters that want you to stay at Collinwood however, if it's impossible for your Dad, do what you can to stay in the game because you are a better footballer than your Dad ever was.
Mick Malthouse cost the first 2 boys their careers and now everyone reckons Travis has signed a deal to join Carlton WITH Mick? Its hilarious
I agrree with you on this one.

Malthouse should have been sacked for playing Jason up forward in the '03 GF and then his subsequent comments about Jason's performance, but that is content for another thread.....

You don't have to read between the lines to realise that The Club & the Clokes are not on the same page. It seems they have tried, but just haven't been able to get there.

Obviously something would have to change before the year is out and I would guess that The Cub doesn't have as much room to move as the Clokes.

It's up to him.

A club in a position like Collingwood should NOT be losing players to salary cap restraints.

What's hilarious is you think the first 2 Clokes had a career.

^^ Yep well said.

What do we in fact get for Travis in terms of draft picks?
Do we get more if we trade with GWS?
Is the AFL watering down the compensation for trading players, do they have a say in what Travis is worth?

I certainly hope and expect two first round draft picks for Travis and if anyone says he is not worth it then they are dreaming. The amount of blood, sweat, tears, time, and money gone into this fella is worth every bit of 2 first round draft picks surely.

BTW suprised there has been no bagging of Ben Reid? The Cloke has gone thread sure sounded like Reid had been holding out for more money, combined with the fact he has been in absolutely shithouse form and gets bagged in every post match thread, that would keep up the consistency?

Oops, last names not Cloke, so no hate there ;)
Oops Eddie, not so good with maths, this time last year Cloke had kick 45 he now has 35, approx 22% decrease, so no objective facts there  .

It isn't about goals though, he's kicked a sh!t load of goals this year in junktime, rarely has he had an influenced on the result.

Other than perhaps the WCE game.... but you'd want to influence more than 1 game a year if you're commanding $1M a year.

There was no machete on the charge sheet. Yet that is the weapon he is being charged to have made the attack with.

Liam's Lawyer has been able to prove that everyone other than one person was drunk at the time. The person who wasn't drunk has claimed that Liam was only using self defence.

The trial seems to be a dogs breakfast.
When you've been reading Nick's for a bit longer, you (and Beast) will, no doubt, come to appreciate that when I ask people about the purported basis for their opinion about a legal matter, it's an entirely rhetorical question.

What you were both discussing was the committal hearing, not the trial. Liam Jurrah has, as I understand the position, today been committed to stand trial at a later date.

I should say, for the record (and particularly bearing in mind Rudeboy's position) that I take no pleasure at all in the fact that the committal has turned out this way (or - for that matter - that it was always likely to do so). But your over-statements based on what were (I presume) news reports (if you were Tippet's instructing solicitor, you wouldn't have been posting about the case on Nick's) did make me wonder about the reliability of some other things you were posting.

The devil is, as they say, usually in the detail.

Right then, we will see what happens at the trial. I still say he will get off.

No, you'll see. Predicting the future is not what I do for a living. I called you for over-reaching, not for guessing wrong.

Seems there are different opinions of what exactly happened and it will end up, one person's word against another person's word. And most of it is contradictory. But you must know something else...

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/demons ... 6432167209

[Evidence given during this week's committal hearing has been contradictory.

The woman Jurrah allegedly assaulted did not mention his name while on the witness stand, while another alleged victim said they only argued and had no physical contact.

Basil Jurrah - who claims the footballer inflicted a "skull-deep" 7cm wound with a machete - admitted to being drunk at the time.

An eye-witness, meanwhile, said Basil was so drunk that night he could only stand and hold the machete, while Jurrah was acting to defend himself.

This morning, witness James Turner claimed Basil had brought the machete to the brawl.

Jurrah, he said, was "telling people to stop fighting".

Lawyers for Walker and Fry also asked the bulk of the charges be dismissed.

Walker's lawyer said that, at arraignment, he would plead guilty to causing Basil Jurrah harm.

Steve Robson, prosecuting, withdrew one of the charges because the alleged victim did not attend court to give evidence.

The remainder of the allegations, he said, should go to trial.

CLOKE IS NOT THAT GOOD ,NOT WORTH 500K LET ALONE 800-900K IT IS JUST COMMON SENSE.

None of this makes one bit of sense to me anymore. I don't think he even understands what his demands are.

Has there been a more poorly handled contract negotiation...Tooves manager gave it a fair crack last year and the last contract Cloke signed comes a pretty close runner up.

If going to accuse others, get your own facts straight, he had kicked 43, it was also about this time he started hitting his straps and kicking multiple goals every week. This year he has actually been more consistent up untill the last couple of weeks when the whole team has been playing shit

It was only about 2-3 goals difference a couple of weeks ago when everyone kept saying how worse off he was and quoting year long averages to prove their points

Even if he finishes the year with 61-62 goals, its still a good year and would make a mockery of all this crap he is copping
