Fellow Magpies,

I, the Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club "chant leader" will be in Melbourne for the St Kilda match with the troupe.

When i used to follow league, I was known as Loudspeaker. When I occassionally drag my sorry arse to the games, I am still known as Loudspeaker.

We are sitting in aisle 43 at the dome for this match, level one.

I trust that you will be able to hear us in the CS, and I will come over for a 1/4 to catch up with all my friends.

Get the practice in this week pies, because next week is the REAL DEAL!!!

Geoffy Pie wrote:i disagree there with you joff, i think it is working quite well, even when we're down which has been a lot of the year, peter and craig are still both up there chanting there arses off. yes they may start different chants at the same time but i reckon they're both doing a pretty damn good job at it. I think it's the people around them and the people up the back that don't help them out. It's a tough job being a chant leader but i think these two guys are doing a mighty fine job at the moment

just my 2 cents
I agree with you Geoff, these guys are doing a great job, at least they are trying which is more than I can say about half the deadsh*ts that sit around me!

If the only problem is the fact that they start up together sometimes, then all they need to do is look at each other first to make sure this doesn't happen.

When we have had only one chant leader in the past, when he can't be bothered chanting then nothing happens!

Two have to be better than one and how you can pick one over the other is insulting to the other.

If you want to improve the Cheersquad then don't sell seats to people who either don't show up or wont join in the chants.

AND bring back the flags.

That's MY 2 cents worth!

I have front row seat this week the squad will fire up thats a promise!!!

Peter and craig are chant leaders with peter being senior chant leader would everyone appreciate that please and stop trying to take over the chants on match day.

The leader will lead the chants no buts and no exceptions if the current set up doesnt work other people on front row will be moved to give the senior chant leader a chance to do what he does best.

Two chant leaders should work but it aint workin at the minute, maybe peter can go first half and craig the second half.
All i know is we have to get it workin and if we dont bloody discuss its only going to get worse.

Dan it would be gretaly appreciated if you could let the chant leaders do their job, it might be better if you move to middle of sqaud on match day and wait for the two guys down front to chant and you follow that chant from middle of sqaud, now if you want me to be more frank with what ive just said i will be.

And please no more of this bullshit 'all the players should be sho't chant ok!!!!

Do i need to say more????

Joffa, the reason why the squad isn't firing up is that the middle section (probably starts about 7 rows back) sits there and refuses to chant. From there, you have a huge gap of mostly no-chanters till you get to Greg J and the boys(and gals!).
And I reckon another reason why it isn't working is that we haven't been winning just lately. People don't chant when we're losing. We should be chanting whether we are five goal up, or five goals down.
In regards to Dan, I don't think he's interfering. He was asked to give the leaders a bit of a hand, and he's doing that very well.
Let's see how it all goes on Saturday. I'm positive the only reason we're having these problems is that the team hasn't been doing well. So, win or lose this week, let's all make a helluva lotta noise!

Just my 2 cents.....

Well maybe dan you'd like to get mr nokia and ADSO to come in and help you out seeing as you know who they are and i must add a lot of us now know who they are as well.

Being an observer this is whats happened we now have 3 chant leaders peter craig and dan...its confusing everyone, i say dan thanks for your help and enthusiasm but please leave the chants to the chant leaders.

How about you practise what you preach and help the guys out from the middle of the squad and let them two guys get some teamwork going on front row.

Yep i'll take it to the next comittee meeting if it doesnt improve and as comittee person i have that right!!!

We're playing carlton on saturday now lets bloody fire up and get it right!!!!

Joffa get your facts straight before you accuse me of knowing who mr nokia and adso are because that is a seruois acusation. i simply asked you if it was a comittee decision or yours. Joffa don't get paranoid.
Joffa is conversation ends. how dare you??

P.S i'm sorry for asking!!!!!

Thats very true traci and thats why we have to fire up tomorrow, we have to show the enemy that no matter where we are on the ladder we can out chant them any day..AND WE WILL.

It would be imbarrassing to hear the carlton mob say..'we cant hear your cheer squad sing'

But this has been a good topic its good to brush away a few cobwebs before battle :):)

We are the best cheer squad and tomorrow we will prove why we are the best cheer squad.

WE will sing prior to the battle and you will hear us sing long after the battle.

Its going to be a beautiful day :):):):)

see you all tomorrow.

I think the main problem here is that it is for some reason it is perceived that the only good seats are in the front row and if people are moved from there then they are being downgraded. The fact is every seat in the cheersquad is as important as the next. You should be cheering from whatever seat you have.

It would be good if the chant leaders were maybe spread as in one in the front and one in the middle so the people in the middle of cheersquad cheer more.

There are also way too many empty seats. Maybe the people who dont sit there every week should let cam know and he can organise for other people wanting to join to use those seats so at least the cheersquad is full. Nothing worse than having a supposed full cheersquad membership wise being half empty on game days.
