well well well.. surprisingly no Raels eh !!! in fact no other bloody maggies fans at all, except myself and my wife, 05 Bucks and his missus and Licca18... what a piss poor effort.........
Does the WA MAgpies committee even exist..... I am beginning to seriously doubt it...........
Reckon we'll have more chance of spotting ELVIS or JIMMY HOFFA down the Hyde Park than seeing Raels or the committee down there

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to say (without sounding like I am tugging anyones chain) that the Western Australian Supporters Group was always the Inspirtation behind my efforts in trying to get something off the ground in Queensland, I really hope that you can all pull together and turn the negatives (of which I have, i am not proud to say, a part of at times) into positives. We have obviously lost a bit of support from the club for independant functions when the team is playing in our respective states, but surely we have enough ex pats in our states to draw a crowd, support the Clubs function but also hold your own as an alternative for those who want something a little more casual. I don't know, maybe we should all get together sometime and put our heads together to come up with a plan for inter state supporters clubs, kind of a union (bloody socialists) or a collective voice so that we can be heard and we can really get the supporters groups up and running again. IF there is any interest, drop me an IM and lets start rebuilding.
Cheers

Well 501cfc, you have the right attitude, and 05 bucks, if you can get a new supporter group up and running well good on ya!! I'll support you and anyone involved in making it happen. I think it's fantastic that there is a bunch of people willing to do this to make our club have more supporters to cheer our boys on when they play!!
And I thgink the Western Magpies has a great ring to it to!!
So go for it and I hope that Eddie does back you up and good luck!!
Go the Mighty Magpies!! Lets rip brisbane apart!!!

Like I said to you on Saturday bucks, no reason we can't get this sorted out.. Western Magpies (or Western Maggies) sounds like a fine name mate. We are just finishing up our letter to the so called committee and CFC. As soon as its ready to send we'll post it on here for everyone else to see too....
Just want to also thank Northern Pie for their words of support, you are right mate if we all pull together there is a bloody good chance that a phoenix can arise from the ashes of the WA Magpies.....
As for Elvis being at the Hydey... who knows... I reckon he was a closet Pies fan anyway.... uh huh huh.. thank you very much !!!
Still more chance of seeing him there than Raels though.... more chance of seeing bloody JESUS there (apologies to any religious people in tha house !!!)

Finally I'll be able to put in my first appearance at the Hydey this year. Its been a shame to read about whats going on. Last year during the Prelim Final against the shower, I took down my new digital movie camera and spent some of the afternoon taping the crowd and reactions. It turned out ok, I'll bring a few copies down on vcd if anybody wants one. Just leave a message in this thread so I can get a rough idea of the numbers. If you were there, theres a very good chance you'll be on this clip. Its about 8 mins long with graphics and smart ass comments thrown in. Best reaction is the Port player hitting the post after the siren.

Leon, that sounds awesome mate, I was certainly there right at the front in the middle, happily screaming my lungs out for most of the game....
I will certainly be interested in getting a copy off of you mate. I'm not 100% sure we will be able to make the Hydey on Saturday as I may have to work.... miserable buggers have been messing around with my shifts Grrrrrr...... But I will certainly try to be there, otherwise we will DEFINATELY be there the following week.....
Really good to see some posts on thuis board at long last.... just goes to show that the supporter base in WA is alive and kicking !!!!

Well I'm pretty sure I got you on tape then Pommie, I was right up the front filming the crowd when the final siren went. I would like to meet the old fella who was dancing a victory jig near the bar, still cracks me up. Its an ok little effort, mainly filming at the start and end of quarters, a few reactions in between, interviews with Raels and Julie, and the final victory song. All up, about 8 minutes.
Yes, unfortunately due to work and family commitments this will be my first game. Hopefully can add a few more before the seasons up. Do we still have the main bar or have we been shunted off to the front public bar? Or in the room at the back of the bistro?

It all depends on how many of us there are... we have to organise everything ourselves because Raels or anyone haven't been in contact with Paul Higgins (the owner of the Hydey) all season. So we have been just rocking up and waiting to see where they stick us... we had the Sir James room for the Richmond game.... but for most of the others we have had the big screen in the main bar.... Most we have had all season though is about 20 (West Coast game....). Which is why we have started posting on here to try and get a few more people going.
Dunno if you know though but it sounds like Raels has pulled the pin on the WA Magpies anyway, so we are gonna try and start something else up. Currently discussing this with a 05Bucks and 501cfc.
Anyway mate, If I don't see you on Saturday (depends if I can blag a night off work) we'll probably see you the week after.

Licca, just speak with us at the hydey on Saturday.... Some of us should be there. I have wangled a reprieve from work so that I don't have to start till 8pm... so that I can go down and watch the game (or at least some of it...). (now thats dedication..... )
Be good to see some new faces down there on Saturday hopefully....
The game might not be too pretty though.. no Taz, no Dids.... mind you the Lions haven't got Jonathan "I think I can beat Mike Tyson" Brown playing, so who knows.......
