Fair enough member. We wouldn't want to accept much less though, especially with Geelong so desperate to secure a tall.

I didnt say he was no good, i said they will not trade Tenace.
Pick 7 for Hunt isnt so silly. We get a ready made backman who can kick the ball 50-60m & hit a 10c piece, which means Woewy & Clement dont have to kick out all the time.He is a ver penetrating kick & not like Clement who tends to kick too high when going for distance.
What else would we get @ no.7??
Have a look at last years draft, have many guys have made an impact (who were drafted after pick 5) most need a year or 2.We have plenty of young up & comers.

Tenace is an absolute gun.

Id trade pick 7 for him before Bruce or TJ.

No way should we use pick 7 for Josh Hunt. We don't need a running backman as much as a quality midfielder. If we are going to use pick 7 for a trade it needs to be someone we desperately need. Tenace or Bruce fit the bill.

Having said that I am not against trading for Hunt. He could free up BJ and Cole for possible midfield roles. Maybe a player swap?

If Hunt allows B.J or Cole to go to the midfield then y shouldn't we trade for him?

What do u think is a fair swap for Hunt?

I see the logic but the reality is that Pick 7 is too valuable to swap for a player type that we already have an abundance of.

I was having a go at Maggies about tennace, but Pick 7 for Hunt would be insane. He's a handy player, but we could miss out on a potential star if we gave that away.

We have a lot of young up and comers? Compared to most lists we have nothing in the way of quality.

We cannot afford to let this pick slide without it returning a very good to brilliant player.

Josh Hunt is not in that category.

Hunt=ready made, walk straight into our best 18.
Pick 7= ???????????????????????????????????????.

If we were re-building pick 7 would be better, but we r not.

We should not use pick 7 to get Josh Hunt. That should be the last case scenario......and thats assuming its a scenario worth thinking about.

With pick 7, we should be looking at getting Kane Tenace, Travis Johnstone, Cameron Bruce, Daniel Kerr, Brent Harvey etc etc. We need a player with good skills and speed.

Perhaps we could get involved in the Ottens trade and give pick 7 + MCG + Shaw for Ottens and Zantuck and then offload Ottens for Tenace. Might even be able to get more for Ottens, especially since Geelong are in need of a backup ruckman and forward, and Ottens can do both. Not sure if MCG + pick 7 will be enough for Ottens, or Shaw for Zantuck. Its a hopeful trade....

We really should offer something, or else clubs like Richmond will walk away with someone like a tenace. If i were a club who had plenty of backup ruckmen and tall forwards, i would be targetting Geelong like no tomorrow.

Geelong want pick 7, Pies have told them what they want. and it is not Hunt.

Tigers want a player and a first round pick or two first round picks.

It's a stalemate for now.

true.
cats know what the have to give up.
its a matter of how much they want ottens.

although they could probably get nathan thompson easier.
they are as good as eachother so ottens may miss geelong if richmond dont budge.

They still have to part with someone and the Hawks could pick anyone up with their draft picks. If Thompson went into the draft the Tigers would grab him.

We hold the aces for a change, the Cats are and will be forced to part with someone. Lets hope it's a win for all clubs.
