Finally we buried a team that deserved to be buried. Great performances all round. Really pleased with Jolly and rapped that Dawes now belongs in this side. Good debut from Blair.
Very impressed with Dawes' kicking over the last few weeks. He is working hard, using his body well to hold his opponent back, and slotting kicks from near the boundary. Very solid progression.

Heard bits on the radio - 1st & 2nd quarters. Heard the third while cycling to work including Didaks 3 in 3 minutes but not much after that. Looking forward to seeing it on the computer (don't have Foxtel) after night shift tommorrw.

Jolly sounds as though he did very well.
How did Blair debut? It sounded like he fired off quite a few handballs that assisted us.

Go maggies!!

Very happy with Dawes, some may say I'm rapt in how he's going. Very strong body and knows how to use it, which justifies the time he's spent at VFL level gaining strength and knowledge.

thompsoc wrote:it was interesting looking at Davis and Didak. One had clean hands and the other ..... well.... often fumbled and was not able to impose himself. How good is Didak picking up the bouncing or splilled ball.... always one touch - i thought tonight he could be in the top 5 to 10 afl players!!!
Actually I thought Davis was good tonight. Did not bag any himself, but caused at least two or three, was a major tackling presence in the forward line, and seemed to be closer to form. Only bad kicking prevented him getting 2-3 himself. Not to say that Didak wasn't better. Would love to see him rip a game apart like that against a top side, though.

Went to the game and it was a pretty good all round win, though our fadeouts in the second qtrs are a bit concerning, our second qtrs have been a bit slack lately.Very good third qtr though, and Jolly was fantastic, his best game for us by far, and Dids was great . Yeah, a good solid win, dawes is a revelation, and all in all our only concern really is the poor form of leon davis, he seems to be trying hard, but just seems a bit hesistant, as if he doesnt want to make an error. Stick with him against Port and see how he goes then. But, all in all, a good win.

We went into the game expected to win easily and we did. No injuries was the bonus.

Blair's debut was AFL standard, and for mine he didn't look that much out of place.
Get back on top.

The VFL team can say goodbye to Dawesome now. The position is his.

The bonus for us is Dawes is not afraid to use his body where you looked at Pebs and only used it when he was angry. As the games go by Dawes could quite easily pass Pebs as the full package and we are going to reap the rewards of it.

Leon is not there yet but definitely made an improvement from previous games, his work rate was definitely the best of his past few games. He just needs his timing to kick in and he will be back.

Very happy with Jack last night...yep some will say he did nothing but his team work was great. I have been a huge knocker of Jack for not being a team player and he proved me wrong last night. Looks like he might have turned the corner mentally.

Blair was a great replacement for Sidebottom and new his role. very impressed. He could quite easily been fighting for a spot between Lockyer and Medhurst.

Just need Fraser or Wood to come good...although maybe at the expense of Brown and we nearly have our finals team in place.

Good solid effort by the team. Nothing more than a training drill though based on the opposition we played. I'm really loving Luke Ball, as others have commented in the past, this guy has allowed some of our other skillful mids the time and space to do something with the ball. Cannot underestimate his contribution, hard at it and fearless. In fact that was a lot of the team last night, fearless and hard at the contest, only saw one shirk that I can remember. That's what we need to beat the the other top teams.
Go Pies!
