The tigers have made 6 changes, and none of the ins can play league football, well maybe Nason who is just a kid, but the rest are absolute duds who couldn't get a kick against our VFL side 2 weeks ago.

No, that's Presti's job, you see, or Ben Reid's. Maxwell is the third defender, as you well know, and uses his anticipation and reading of the play to provide rebound while still being prepared to use his courage to get in the way of the opposition's leading targets.

There's not much point criticising a player for what he isn't; you might as well criticise Maxy for not kicking enough goals. He has a role that plays to his strengths - strengths which astute football judges recognise, but you refuse to acknowledge, because you are refusing to let go of an old grudge. And that says more about you than Nick Maxwell.
