Watched the game curled up in bed with my boyfriend; beats being at Etihad, paying hyper-inflated prices for crap coffee!
My man hit the nail on the head when he said, " These bastards (the umpires) must be masochists, they seem to get off on being booed from beginning to end".
Tried to ring SEN to complain about the mauling that our tall forwards got at the hands of Dogs defenders but couldn't get through because of some St Kilda morons ringing to complain about the, "dream-run' Collingwood got in the Grand Final replay of 2010.
Cloke, Dawes, Reid and Keefe ALL got mauled in marking contests last night for a nett result of ZERO frees each...... a joke.

Dont look to the past, full of regret.

Oh no
You never stop complaining. Umps were ok I thought. Great win under a lot of pressure and I am very happy. You are a very negative football fan. Why don't you go and follow Netball.yin-YANG wrote:It wasn't just you - absolute shocker from the umps. Do they still send them to the country? The club must complain.
I appreciate the umpires when I don't notice them!
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

i don't complain often about the umps, but i've come to expect crap decisions from donlon every time we get him (he's no 1).Brenny wrote:Umpire 1... Chris Donlon I think, was the one who screwed us.
As for Schitt....... oops, where did that 'm' go?

Umpire Number 17 "Justin Schmitt" has been crucifying us for as long as I can remember. It's beyond beleief. I remember 2 years ago in a game against North at Etihad, my cousin was almost booted out of the ground for going ape shit, so anti-Collingwood was this umpire. Don't forget him...he's bald, wears number 17 (like our Beamsy) and he does it to us EVERY FARKIN TIME!

I dont mind if they are shit, as long as they are shit to BOTH teams. But, they heavily favoured the Doggies, and the Keefe chop out was a real shocker. Yes, I know it was a vastly slower game back in them "good ol days", but i tell yer what, when i was a teenager, and there was only ONE umpire, back then they invariably did a much better and more consistent job than these friggin useless pumpkins now. !

The umpiring was utter crap, but the dogs players helped.
They would continually get in front position at a contest and push back early into a Pies player who then would instinctively grab them to try to move them. The contact from the Pies players drew a free when technically, because the bulldogs players pushed back so early in the contest, they should have been done for shepherding in the contest with the ball more than 5 metres away.

Yep I did see that, wasn't sure what it was in reference to but loving the growing confidence of Keefe.GML wrote:Terrible umpiring. I'm a firm believer that if we are much better than a team, then despite the umpiring decisions we should be good enough to win. But tonight was horrible. It was frustrating. And it was very unfair. These umpires were shocking. And they're supposed to keep the match fair?!!
By the way did anyone see Lachlan Keefe making a "stop talking/cut it out" gesture with his hand across his throat to Swannie (I think) after another dubious umpiring decision later in the match? I thought that was great maturity by the young fella.
Umpiring was appalling

Worst I've seen in many years. Anyone who thinks otherwise have rocks in their heads. So obvious that the 1/2 time commentary team could only say the the dogs got some "soft" freekicks. All in front of goals of course. And how is front on contact in a marking contest NOT a free kick every time??? When it's a Collingwood player in their forward line!!! MAGGOTS

UMPIRE STUFF UPS EXPLAINED
Imagine you are an umpire in a Collingwood Carlton Grand Final with the scores level with seconds to go .
Then you give Collingwood a free which they should not get , they goal and win the premiership .
The umpire would suffer complete humiliation for the rest of his life until his dying day . So when an umpire gives a decision he is thinking of being written up as a closet Collingwood supporter .
