Much more Goddard than Clement. Has so far been a receiver not a lock down defender. Doubt he'll be Clement either, we'll be looking for him to be more flexible than that and push up into the middle, we wouldn't be picking him at 6 otherwise.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I hate the idea of drafting defenders. You don't draft defenders, you draft mids and forwards and send the spare ones down back.
I know Hine has a great track record, and I've never seen one second of this guy's play, but I'm not feeling this pick.
BTW, if he was Goddard, he'd never be available at pick 6.

Certainly kicks like Clement, high/long looping passes.

Just shows a disrespect for defenders IMO.

Welcome Matthew Sharenberg

Mark Williams once described him as the best schoolboy footballer he'd seen since Carey.
Snoop dog (who's opinion is highly considered) and a few others over at bigfooty rated him the second best footballer in the draft.
Hine rated him ahead of Aish.
Wait and see but that's good enough for me at this stage.
P.S-He's friends with Grundy and Kennedy as well so that's a bonus.

He can be Goddard-like without being Goddard. And that's what he is.
He's not really a defender, more of a utility. I do have some reservations about him at pick 6 as he's not yet convinced as a mid. But that's what our recruiters are paid to do, work out what he will be, not what he is. I agree, if he was just a half back flanker, we messed up taking him at 6. Which means that's not what the club sees him as and I'll back their judgement given I've not sin him play for more than two minutes.

Missed on Lennon but rapt to have the berg at the pies.
Aish will most likely be a very good midfielder but we had the option of picking one of those at pick 10 so I'm happy we went with the tall utility type at pick 6.
It's obvious to me that with the drafting of Langdon and Marsh we were looking to after add some height coupled with mobility/speed to the list.

The footage I saw of Scharenberg reminded me of a young Paul Roos. Now that's the sort of attacking defender we could enjoy having for years to come. Great pick up Pies.
