Not having Goldsack's tackling pressure really told. He is more valuable to us than we think. Ditto for Sidebottom.
Full credit to Travis Cloke. That was an amazing effort. Elliott was good, but far too many went AWOL.
Beams is clearly our most valuable player. God help us next week against Hawthorn.

Usually right with you on the glass half full....... But c'mon defender. Pies didn't turn up to play today. They lost that match they weren't beaten and those loses hurt the club t he most.Defender wrote:Shit happens, reckon we thought it was just going to happen, gotta bounce back next week.
No Pressure, No Diamonds

To be honest I thought our team sucked the moment Beams withdrew and we didn't replace him with Fasolo.GreekLunatic wrote:we dropped fasolo ok he didnt play well qb rested beams brought in broomhead. did we get ahead of ourselves resting players
The coach needs to wear the blame for this loss. Resting our premier midfielder and playing a first gamer against a team under the pump all week has to rank as one of the dumbest decisions I've seen in a long while.

Yes shouldn't lose the sight of clokes game in amongst the misery of that loss....his best game of the year.collie dog wrote:Not having Goldsack's tackling pressure really told. He is more valuable to us than we think. Ditto for Sidebottom.

Any decent coach would have expected more from the players that played regardless of beam being left out.

Dogs gave us a football lesson today.
They tried harder, wanted the ball more, and never let us establish ourselves... Anytime we got close to being in front they would kick away 1 or 2 goals.
Ling talked about a stat where they were killing us in uncontested football in the forward line. Story of the day... weak pressure by the Pies.
Heaps of Pies players who didn't try today.
Big decision for Bucks is who to drop.

Very disappointing indeed. I think Adams will turn out to be a good player but today he was not good at all. Let him play out the rest of the season in the VFL to build on his game. No more seniors for him unless injury etc.
We were beaten in most positions. Cloke was good. White was poor again. Seems to get caught watching the ball. Why aren't we sitting him alongside Cloke in the forward line?
We seem to be eager to take on a player when we have the ball rather than a quick handpass off. We get caught too often doing that.
If we don't lift our game we will get smashed by the Hawks even if they are undermanned.
Come on boys!!!!

Amid all the doom and gloom that's the one massive plus. Hawthorns key back at the moment is Schoenmaker's who Trav has monstered in the past. If he brings todays form in next week then he'll cause the Hawks palpitations.
That said we need to stop bloody Roughhead, Gunston, Hodge, Burgoyne etc etc going the other way which if we play like we did today ain't likely to happen.
