Well what?Big T wrote:We were able to improve in clearances compared.to.previous losses against hawks because Mitchell didn't play. There's the difference.
Witts finished well when the hawks had already started their stretches but ceglar was better when it mattered. but even Hal knows that.but alas, an encouraging effort by witts with minimal support, coz.lets face it, we have no one else.
A really disappointing day against an.undermanned and under performing hawks.
Will be lucky to make the finals from here.
well

The standard Hawthorn shellacking.I don't think we've bridged the gap on them at all.Cloke needs more help on the forward line. You can't go too far with a team of midgets on your forward line. The Reid injury has really cruelled our season.

Sorry, mentioning that the Hawks are undermanned because they have 2 or 3 out, is very unfair on us. We currently have 10 injured players and one suspended. That's more than any other team. Probably 7 of those missing would be in our best 22.Big T wrote: A really disappointing day against an.undermanned and under performing hawks.
We were never a chance today, but put in a real effort. If we'd played this well last week, we'd have smashed the Dogs. That games was disappointing, this one was meritorious. And Ceglar was beaten by Witts all day, not just at the end. 15 hit outs and 13 disposals for Ceglar is pretty ordinary really.

They are having a lend of us Donny. There was zero chance of there being anywhere near 70,000 there today. It would have been the worst Coll v. Hawthorn crowd in quite a while.Donny wrote: Crowd: 70, 195
As far as the game is concerned it was deja vu all over again. We are Hawthorn's bunnies.
Cloke can hold his head high. Our mids get lots of the footy but don't do enough with it. We are not tough enough. Several players are barely up to VFL standard. Jesse White is fast turning into the Q-stick recruiting disaster for this year. Blair must have pictures of Bucks in a compromising position on one of the team trips.
The cupboard is bare. Top four is gone and seriously we will be struggling to make the eight now. The game next week is starting to worry me.
The umps cheated, but what's new. The AFL make FIFA look like the FBI. The whole competition (if you can call it that because it is FIXED) is a joke. And I for one am not going to put any more money into this crumby sport until there are some real reforms (preferably a breakaway Premier League).
Today the great pretenders of 2014 have finally been revealed.
The AFL should start worrying about soccer because Ange Postecoglou might just be the best coach of any sport in the country.

Yes, Jack Russell Spain, we know you barrack for the Hawks, there's no need to tell us every time we play them.collie dog wrote: As far as the game is concerned it was deja vu all over again. We are Hawthorn's bunnies.

But for a momentum changing decision and perhaps more accurate shots on goal when the momentum was with the pies, the result may have been different. If nothing else lots to be learnt from the experience for our youngsters and a great future ahead. We are clearly not quite there yet. I am proud though of the endeavour shown today for most of the game. As for Swan, remember he had surgery in the preseason and is also only couple of weeks back from injury. Hopefully an upside coming from him when he is fully fit. Cloke seems to have found form. Sidebottom, Maxwell and Reid may have made an impact. Who knows, if we ever get the best team out there on the park for a few weeks might just give the comp a red hot go.
Yeh, pretty much agree with all that. Losing Langdon was a killer blow, and both the beams and pendles clangers by umps, really cost us. Had we had the sack, sidey, maxy and reid in, it would have been a hell of a lot closer, may have even won. we are indeed a team of the future, the guys on the radio said it was a very experienced team vs a very young side with some raw and excting talent. Lets not forget we have two top ten picks who have not even played yet, freeman and scharenberg. I am disappointed, but as the radio guy said, there is a lot of upside to the Pies for the future, a lot to like about them. I do reckon we need at least three changes for next week though, goldy and sidey are absolute musts.
I am however, getting sick n tired losing to these piss and pooh shits, we play em in the last round, hopefully have our best team in for then, and give em some payback.

And you sir are suffering from verbal diarrhea on this thread. Forget the nonsense about Jack Spain. I'll see you at the soccer, because with Timmy Cahill coming to the A-League next season and continued immigration that sport will be clearly number one within ten years. Footy will be as relevant to world sport as Gaelic football.AN_Inkling wrote:Yes, Jack Russell Spain, we know you barrack for the Hawks, there's no need to tell us every time we play them.collie dog wrote: As far as the game is concerned it was deja vu all over again.
