^^It's the free agency era that's what you have to do, offer more money or longer deals.
I don't think Greenwood is a bad option, but I would be concerned that we're pushing a little too hard because we badly need a mid-aged mid. Prior to 2014 he wasn't too flash. This year was clearly his best and signing a player at that point is always a risk.
Before 2014 where he played 22 games and averaged 25 disposals, he'd played from 2013 to 2009: 6, 5, 13, 17 and 11 games.

Well done boys!
Did he have injury problems in 2012/13?
Can't say I know much about him.
This year is by far his best averaging the second most possessions for North and kicking 16.18 goals.
A one off or sign of things to come?
If Brisbane's second round pick was enough to get the deal done then I guess pick 4 and Greenwood is an okay outcome for Beams.
Still rather pick 4 and Mayes.
P.S-Surprised that North haven't shown some interest in Lumumba given they're obviously loading up for a crack next year. Salary cap could be an issue.
Could we yet see a straight swap of players?

Looking back there were some injuries but also times where he couldn't get a game.swoop42 wrote:Did he have injury problems in 2012/13?

The other concern over Levi is he's another in the "Buckley's triers" mold.
I'm not against his signing but haven't seen enough of him to be overly confident. He seems a good replacement for Beams. Gets almost as much of the ball, kicks goals and is more accountable defensively.
We could probably get him for the Lumumba pick from Melbourne. Waiting on the Beams deal would drag it on for too long.

No wonder we're getting rid of him.RudeBoy wrote:The Roos did want Lumumba but H has chosen the Dees.swoop42 wrote:

Another Collingwood six footer as well.

Happy to take an open mind but won't be shattered if we miss out.
Players taken between 15 to 30 could be considered quite even this year so mightn't be a bad year to retain a couple of picks within the 20's.

He has just finished equal second in the Roos B and F and they were a goodish team this year.
Lets not get greedy, he fits the mid field profile that we are looking for. He is a strong player over the ball and in his footy prime. I would settle for market value on this one, possibly mid 20s pick. He can run out a game, he cut his teeth as a tagger and doesnt mind a bit of contact. Hes no dangerfield but not many are. My only concern would be that 2014 was a break out year rather than the norm. If the penny has dropped and works hard again to repeat, he would be a welcome addition to a mid field without beams, ball and mccaffer in 2015.
