doubt that Mihocek will get moved - you don't change what doesn't need fixing - checkers will only get better up forward.
I also doubt McLarty has any problem with digits - how can anyone think that people don't want to do well.
Roughhead would be a Reid like situation - if he is up and about that's great and a return of 15 games would be good. Expecting a lot from him would only fast track his retirement.

Are we all assuming that Dunne and Scharenberg are able to get back on the paddock for 2019? And unless Reid can stay on the paddock, and Moore, then we will likely need a player of his bulk to battle those eagle mongrel forwards. And lets face it, Checkers is not the best option at CHF and would be better if we play him from a forward pocket with Cox and the likes of Stevo and others at their feet, we will have too many options for oppositions to battle. Roughhead or Moore at CHF as big mobile marking targets to then boost it down to the FF line.

I really like the player but I'm actually writing off Shazza - he's too injury prone unfortunately, if you have 3 knee reconstructions in 5 years.. realistically - you're done.

The question should at least be asked.
If Roughead's main selling point is that he can fill multiple key positions are the Bulldogs really in the situation they can trade him away cheaply if he's above average in any one of those roles?
They might prefer others up forward or in the ruck now but are they so flush with quality key defenders they can afford to let him go?
At the end of the day he'll come cheap and if as suspected we are out of the running for May he'll at least offer some insurance down back.

Lets keep in mind the rule changes for next year and their potential to impact team selection and list management.
Example 1, the 6 6 6 rule means you can't have a spare defender at centre bounces. Wings have to be on the wing. So, a team that gets a clean centre clearance can bang it long forward safe in the knowledge that there's no spare defender to intercept. This would make height down back important

I like the idea of getting Jordan Roughead very much. Gives us so much extra flexibility and depth with our talls, at almost no cost. We also have a wonderful recent record of recruiting experienced defenders from elsewhere (Dunn, Howe) and transforming them into players a class above their former selves. Think it's one of those low key, but highly strategic trade deals.
