Our inability to keep our foot on the oppositions throat in a final quarter has again been disappointing.

I'll take any win over that shite stain of a club any day of the week but we should've put them to the sword in the last quarter and denied them those goals. We literally parked the bus and walked off the ground. Daicos looks to be the only injury concern but we looked stuffed by the end. Focus on recovery and smash the crows next week. We're finals bound now and at least that's guaranteed.

We won.

We got the job done and the game was over before the last quarter even started.
Um no.

We win our final two matches and percentage might well be all that separates 4th and 5th.

It could have been a 7 to 8 goal victory.

And forget the first Qtr and a half. Lucky it was Melbourne. But happy we won...we had to. Couldn't do that against many other teams.

Finishing 4th might mean playing an interstate final. 5th and in Melbourne.

Some excellent performances today - thinking Sidey, Pendles. checkers, Maynard, Crisp mainly - but was so very pleased to see Trav Varcoe get amongst it again. His body language shows that he just loves Collingwood! He gets so excited when something positive happens, whether its from him or someone else. Great for team spirit.

Yes,this happens a lot.Every time we have our foot on someone’s throat,we inexplicably take the pressure off and let them back in it.We always start playing conservatively and chip the ball around. It never works. It just encourages the other team to go in harder.

Would rather play interstate week 1...and home in week if we lose.

Every time we put our foot on the throat, the umpire pays a free against us for his contact.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this Mr Miyagi. For example, we wouldn't want to play Giants. Brisbane Lions or WCE away. Then again, we would have a double chance. Who knows? Just keep winning, I say :) Don't care how we do it.

It should have been an 8 goal win. Percentage is vital in the race for a top 4 berth.

Overall, it was a pretty good win, but we had a few passengers imo. WHE is a frustrating player, as he either players a blinder or goes completely missing. Watching on TV, I thought Wills was vital again around the contest, and Thomas did some good things too. Elliott was moving well, but is still lacking a bit of touch. Varcoe is playing where he belongs, close to goal.

I'm not going to criticise our coaching, because we won the game, but I was disappointed to see Roughead moved out of defence, to play the cox role up forward. I'd rather play another mid sized forward and keep our defence in tact. While he did an OK job, I don't want to play in September with Madgen in our team....but that's just me.

Still, as long as we keep winning, that's the main thing. In truth, we won't really know what we're capable of until we get Moore, JDG, Stevo and possibly Wells back. That means we'll be rolling the dice week one of the finals, so all the more reason to get a top 4 berth.

Possibly the best game for Thomas all season. He showed some desperation and repeat efforts.

Yep, Magden did a reasonable job, but first priority IMHO is to keep that backline together.
