Melbourne's the first team under the current finals system to be eliminated in straight sets in consecutive seasons.

I believe this is the best possible outcome for us.
Assuming that Weitering and Cripps are both Ok, despite the clear negligence of Carlton medicos, Carlton will have the best chance to apply some kind of heat to Brisbane.
Melbourne have no functional forward line, and even with the return of Van Rooyen, they would lose Pickett who is more dangerous anyway.
They would have been without doubt blasted by Brisbane off the Gabba and into black matter.
Carlton will be:
a) equipped with a full team ( hoping Cripps and Weitering are ok)
b) get Martin back
They have some capacity to make Brisbane earn the victory.
I know some here will think I am playing with fire, but ultimately
a) Carlton can rough up Brisbane (they do have a fierce contested style, proven tonight), while with 99% probability will lose
b)If they win, I would rather face them in a GF than Brisbane because:
i) they are not as good
ii) they will be more fatigued than us.
c) Defeating Brisbane on the Gabba would have been their GF.

I am genuinely shocked by the number of people who don't understand the finals system - both here and on the Pies supporters FaceSpace page.

I hope Port win, but I have this feeling that GWS are going to be too slick. Rather play Port in the prelim.

5 leg multi - GWS 1-39, Anytime goal scorers - SPP & Brown, 25+ touches - Coniglio & Rozee @ $10.
Don't count the days, make the days count.

Haha suck it toffs, you invested so much energy in trying to get Bruzzy suspended that you forgot there was a final to be won. Despite all the draft picks you are still losers!
Carlscum are beaten up and that was their grand final and they will go down to Brions at the Gabba and hopefully cause so injuries.
I want Port to win but think gws will pip them at the post

Everyone seems to be tipping GWS, so I think Port Adelaide will have a point to prove and actually win as a result.

GWS' form in the second half of the season has been outstanding, but the one blemish was a 51 point loss to Port Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval in Round 22.

Hey 90 in a two horse race, do you give Port any chance of winning? I do.
