I could be wrong but I think it might be a (slightly obscure WPT) joke about South African accents. ;)

Not that obscure.
I pictured Tony Greig in my mind when I read WPT's comment.

Meanwhile, the Victorian State Government, after closing Hotel Quarantine twice reducing the overseas intake at least twice and now planning to purpose build a new quarantine facility one in the north west modeled on Darwin's, have petitioned the feds to be allowed to bring in more people over and above their allotment, being overseas students and movie actors and support staff.

Cheers Dave. I mentioned it to my team at work today and they looked horrified, my Boss said " but you'll get clots"

I just shrugged. I go back for my second shot in July, all booked in.

it'll take more than some vaccine or Chinese Virus to kill me

The Feds should fund the building of portable bungalows in each state as the hotels are not a desirable option for quarantine, given the Feds have largely abrogated their responsibility for quarantine (which is a Federal not state responsibility).

When not used for quarantine the portable bungalows could then could be used for assisting people who don’t have shelter.

Of course that might be too logical for any of the bureaucracies.

Victoria could have built multiple purpose built quarantine facilities with the money they've already blown on failed hotel quarantine.

They can't be used for homeless shelters, you need shelters where the homeless are, not ship them off to rural places in the middle of nowhere.
