Finnis said such bile would not be tolerated. Oh yeah, and what's he gonna do about it? Have a cry into his weeties? My goodness.... talk about an overreaction.

Footy's a passionate game. He should have signed on ages ago. Clearly he wants more money than he's worth. Clearly his father has a lot to do with it.

And as supporters who pay their memberships we're not bloody happy. Deal with it.

Footnote: I haven't taken to Twitter or Facebook to rip shreds of Cloke... just think the grandstanding is ridiculous.

I don't see why the hate to be honest. Bagging our own (he is still our own until seasons end) is a bad look. What will it achieve? It may make him play worse not better. Is that going to help us for the rest of the year? No it isn't.

My feeling tends to be we as supporters are passionate were black and white.

We tend to think of the players having the same passion and love for the club as us.

I work for a major car manufacturer, and there are people who eat sleep and breathe the manufacturer I work for.

I love the manufacturer don't get me wrong, but at the end of the day it's a job that pays not too bad and I enjoy it.

I'm loyal to the company but if a better job came up I'd leave for that.

I think that's the same with AFL players, they work for Collingwood (or their club) and they're loyal to the club whilst there but at the end of the day it's a job.

I think we tend to want the players to have the same level of passion and love for the club as we do... which really isn't realistic. Maybe some do, but not all would.

Maybe we as supporters are being unrealistic about what we expect.

No hate for Cloke here. Certainly will not boo him whilst he wears the Black & White. No way am I going to some demonstration at the Westpac centre.

At the same time:

Am I disappointed in Cloke - Hell yeh.
Have I lost respect for Cloke - You bet.
Am I happy about his on field performance - No way.
Do I think he is worth %1-$1.1m / year for 5 years - Dreaming.
Do I think he has become a distraction to our endeavour to win the flag - Yes - in a very selfish manner.

The club has done all it can to sign him. It is obvious after all this time that he wants more than what we are prepared or can afford to offer in light of retaining other players both now and in the future. He wants to maximise his income at the expense of the club and other players.

His value was over inflated by Freo's offer. He is not worth $1 - $1.1m per year for 5 years. What the final eventual offer is from other clubs including Freo is anybodies guess. IMO his value is dropping every time he opens his mouth or takes to the field.

Also, as supporters we have the right to an opinion. At the end of the day we pay either directly or indirectly for EVERYTHING.

While Travis Cloke is a magpie, we only have one ethos in relation to him.

Side By Side.

Matt Finnis, the AFL Players Association chief has asked us to lay off, so I will respect the wishes of this nobody and refrain from posting my opinion.

Either you're with us, or you're against us.
Side by side.
Go Pies!

But you are only flaming the hysteria surrounding it.

Basically the Club has come out to try and stop all the madness by taking the issue (Travis contract) off the table till the end of the year.

So the media turn to Collingwood's hysterical fan base to try and feed off and make the issue last longer so they can sell more papers.

We need to stand firm - Side By Side.

Atm, Travis Cloke is a magpie. He has given us great service. We need to treat him with the same respect we do to anyone who wears our beloved jumper.

The media want us to implode. It sells.

We need to be mindful of that and do the exact opposite.

Nathan Buckley wasn't playing for the biggest club in the land.

He was playing for an expansion team who at the time was a rabble.

He left after one season not after 7 years of time, effort and money had been spent developing him.

He left in the hope of premiership success not money.

It's done now, the contract negotiations are off until the end of our season.

Can we leave it at that, its still 50/50.

Would rather leave cloke to concentrate on helping us win a flag while he is definitely still with us. We are fourth so far this year, and although Hawthorn gave us a football lesson on Saturday, we are still a genuine premiership chance. Lets not forget it can fall away pretty quickly and this might be our last opportunity for a while.

Lets make issue of this at the end of the season, but until then, 'We love you Trav, help bring home a flag in 2012 for us'.

I certainly wont be booing him at any time.

I don't think putting off talks until the end of the year translates into concerntration and focus.. I think the flag is gone

I hope that Travis re-signs and I wont be "booing" him while he's still in Collingwood colours.

However if he lines up for another team next year then I don't think the AFL will have seen anything like the wrath Collingwood supporters will impose on him.

Should be fun.

You think the flag is gone? Why is that? We are still in striking distance.

Not if he is a 2 time premiership player for us.

I just hope if he does leave he doesn't end up at the Scum...

I still believe he will stay.
