^ I'll follow Mr Miyagi on this, not all misdemeanours are created equal and not all crimes are reported.
If the club decided what Stevo was involved in, was past fixing you have to trust them with that.
The afl are reporting this morning we performed to worst of all the trading clubs. I think it's symptom of a few things and not the least of which was Beams where we got yoked with a unavailable player.
Some of these kids are on big money and are not ready for it. I want to look on the bright side of this and say they have identified what character flaws will bring to a club and are cutting the problem out now.
The only trade that doesn't look like it was motivated by personality was Phillips - I hope he does well.

Do you want to trade him as well and say don't shut the door on the way out? And while you're at it why not go back further in time to Nathan Buckley's playing days. He got suspended for a week for wiping his blood on Cameron Ling's jumper. Did you call for Nathan Buckley to be sacked at the time? Only now when it suits you do you come out with these sorts of comments. Talk about throwing stones in glass houses.
DeGoey's charge will be thrown out. Those who know what happended would support that view.
Comparing Buckley retaliating in the heat of battle to how someone consistently behaves poorly off the field and fails to listen is simply pathetic.

agree 100%
surely club is not dumb enough to get rid of a bloke for a few piddly things- clearly bigger issues at play.
As miyagi says- swanny (and you could probably add dids, jono and jordy to that) always gave 100% on the field and at least seemed to respect the club while there and appreciated the support they got

What about coaching and teaching: to me it reflects poorly on the coaching staff that they can’t coach and manage.

Well, you reached the correct conclusion in the end.
It’s worth noting that Stephenson didn’t want to leave but in the end decided that he would prefer to play for a coach that hasn’t even been selected in preference to playing for Buckley. You can only guess what effect that has had on the remaining player’s relationship with Buckley.
This just makes me flat.
Stephenson: I feel for all the Collingwood supporters. I love the support that they gave me at my time there. I feel bad for all the kids that have the #1 on their jersey. But I hope that I hold a little place in their heart, because they'll always hold a place in mine

I know we don’t usually say this, but I hope he goes on to star at North and prove the club wrong.
Basically, I felt the same way...

Sorry mate Bucks doesn't teach, it's not in his job description...
ps: what did he say wasn't part of his job all those years back, i've actually forgotten...

Thing is though, Dusty etc pulled their heads in and performed on the field. Swanny still misbehaved off field, but he put the effort in on game day and at the club so much that people turned a blind eye to him having a drink and whatnot during the week. Sidey will have to put in a monumental preseason and 2021 to make amends, but he’s mature enough to do it and genuinely wants to do it. Stevo didn’t get this into his head and he continued to be a tosser thinking talent will save him.
How do you know Stephenson would have pulled his head in next year if he had stayed at the club? You're passing judgement on a 21 yo kid. What were you like as a 21 yo?

as a coach of local cricket and footy for over 25 years- I have learnt one thing - there are some people you can't help - no matter what you do- they need to want to help themselves.
It took me years to figure this out. I now tell my teams at the start of the season- if you want to piss about and do nothin g- go for it- you are wasting your own talent and time. If you're pissing about impacts any others- then you're out the door.
Used to spend way too much time trying a million different things to get players on track- but that time was taking away from building up the ones who actually wanted to get better.

No, what is pathetic is passing judgement on a 21 yo kid who hasn't grown up yet.

And how many team trophies did you win as a cricket coach? We can compare coaching records.

Understanding many people are confused and upset, I think we concentrate on the matter in hand rather than a pissing contest over team trophies please - thank, the mods team
