He is our 2nd best ball user behind Pendles

Just love the way he kicks the thing. Straight, low, directionally - as a first option. The one mark on his game tonight, I think, was that he was outmarked one on one too often.

He's got a quick mind, added to his ball skills = potential long term A grade player. There is a lot to like about him, he's versatile despite his size.

Your spot on DTM. What I was hoping we would turn out to be. Just love his poise, On one of our attacking moves he just waited for Darcey to get into a better position baulked a Doggies player and delivered perfectly which resulted in a goal! Absolute class! Had a fast mobile defensive player in Picken on him which means teams are worried about what he can deliver.

^Amazing, really, that a team with no game plan, and nothing to play for but pride, can run a top-4 contender side to within 3 points on their own fortress, when they were fighting to make it into a top 4 position. The game plan was good tonight, and barring a few skill errors at critical moments, we'd have won a game we had no right to expect to win.

if you watch the game carefully, you will notice that possessions that ended up in goals usually had players like aish and De Goey (particularly De Goey) involved in the chain of posssesssion, whereas similar chains of possession that fizzed out along the way (which often resulted in bulldogs goals) had no such involvement.

the handball from de Goey that set up the greenwood goal was superb. without the precise timing and execution of that handball, greenwood is tackled before he has a chance to kick it.

that is why De Goey is going to be a star. these are Pendles qualities. Aish has them too. Scharenberg had them when he was on the field. Varcoe has them too by the way.

I think DeGoey came of age tonight. He is a bit of a slow burn, but yes, he has it, and he's another brick in the wall of our future.

well done Monco. i am proud of you. There were tonnes of people who stated that aish was a dud. Lierally hundreds of posters.

you are the first (and so far only) poster to admit you may have been wrong in making your assessment too early.

Nothing but respect for that.

as for the others, if you aren't prepared to admit when you are wrong (and perhaps learn a lesson for future premature evaluations!!), you share more in common with Donald Trump than you might think......

I've admitted to being wrong too. I was totally unimpressed by him earlier in the year, because he played like a player with absolutely no self belief. He looked like he didn't belong at AFL level. However, since returning to the side after Bucks sent him back to the ressies he has found his mojo and has proven me wrong. Now I'm a believer.

Aish is not playing well. He is now playing great! Let's not underestimate the improvement. He has been in our best players for most of the last few weeks. In fact at times he has been close to our most influential player. Which goes to show it was probably self belief. The thing that holds back young talent till the penny drops. In the last month or two Aish, Grundy and Moore have arrived in the 'I belong' category. There is no turning back now. Next up I want to see DeGoey take that next step. DeGoey is a little different though as he came into AFL with oodles of confidence built on the premise he can play the same way as he was in junior footy. He has had to take a step back and come to the realisation that he needs to go through a development stage just like the three guys mentioned. So his avenue to arriving is taking a different path.
