I'd put off upgrading to Windows 11 for ages, but finally bit the bullet a few days ago. It's better than expected, and I suspect it makes more optimal use of my lappy's specs and even those of my monitor. It might also be that Dell have their own optimisation updates that came with the upgrade and are tuned to the upgrade; either way or both, I certainly can't complain.

yeah I have 11 on my Gigabyte laptop, its brilliant, i keep waiting for an upgrade offer on my desktop and Microsoft surface!

What makes me happy right now? My RAV4, its damn awesome, 550 klm down, still over a quarter of a tank of fuel, smooth as silk, the shit surface on the freeway to Geelong feels like gentle undulations, the heated seats are damn amazing, and for summer, they also have a/c piped through them!! The radar cruise control takes a bit of getting used to, but gees its clever!

oh and finally, after 5 years of looking, I got pics of a Tawny Frogmouth!! woohoo, now i just need a Collingwood win!

^Tawny's are awesome! Please share when you get the chance!

I can report a near-miracle: a UK day over 30 degrees!! Magic day, with a band playing at the plaza down the road. It really is magnificent here in summer.

They are absolutely superb photographs. The Tawny Frogster in all his characteristic glory! And the detail; you can see that even the little tiger's beak is camouflaged. Just perfect work; congratulations.

Got a call today from a bloke who's a Director at a mob that makes and sells mobility assist devices. My Patent attorney gave me his email address so I sent him an email selling the device I invented.

Good news, he's had a discussion with his Managing Director who wants to be involved in discussions and they want me to come to visit, bring the device and have a chat. :D

He's going to email me with the details, I'll get a Non Disclosure Agreement written up and signed first, then here we go.

It may go no where, I'm sure there's a market for this but it may or may not suit where they're positioning themselves as an organisation and I get that, but at minimum I'll get some feedback from people in the industry and if they don't want to licence it, hopefully some leads on companies who might.

I showed a photo to my GP yesterday (went in for my 6 monthly reprimand) and she got it straight away. (I did ask first if this was covered under Dr/Patient confidentiality  ) She said the concept is so simple it's amazing no one has thought of it before, but then added that she has a number of elderly patients and hears stories frequently about the lengths that they have to go to to get back on their feet after a fall, then made some suggestions for improvements that I'd already thought of.

Fingers crossed.
