I could not even begin to imagine how many were there. Apparently more than last year so the organisers said.Jock McPie wrote:i heard about that on the radio. they said they got 1300 bikes last year, how many turned up this year?
I've never seen anything like it, and for a fantastic cause too. My mum is a recent BC survivor so I was happy to go for the ride.

What made me happy today was my start to the whole healing process, I came to a conclusion that it is better to have a friend then to be fully alone, and well I'm losing some weight and I am not bad looking, and apparently I appear to be a "nice guy" and a "great guy" so things can be good I guess.
My mum and dad had twins about 9 years ago I was 15 and dad was about 50 and mum about 40 now my dad is 60 and mum is 50 so I know where you are coming from.David wrote:Finding out today that my Mum is pregnant with what will be

Actually, I'm a little worried... it's 5 years since she last had a baby, and she's in her 40s... but all the same it's great news and I hope everything goes alright for her and the baby.
I'm kind of stunned myself... I'm going to be 20 next year, ffs! It's a big age difference.

I got up on the roof today and put some poly pipe inserts into two downpipes that don't flow to my rainwater tank. The inserts mean that water can't get down that downpipe until the water level in the gutters is about 5cm deep. This will direct about double the amount of water to my tank, while still letting it go down the drain if the gutter gets too full from really heavy rain.
Now, they've forecast rain for the weekend For every mm of rain, instead of getting 50l of water, I'll get about 120l.

someone finally decided to call me back about a job app. got a preliminary interview on monday.
i get my first dole payment next week not that i want to be dependent on it but i've paid my share of taxes over the years.
i got an sms from someone (i contacted on a dating website) i'd like to meet up with. never done this sort of thing before.

LOL sounds like my day.EBB wrote:3 things I'm not exposed to recently.

Such a lovely day today.
Mowed the back lawn, weeded the front garden, then lay out the backyard in the sun on the bench/daybed I made with the radio on reading Matthew Riley's latest book while having a few beers.
Damn, it's a hard life.

Rain, rain glorious rain
Although not today, just got back today from checking my property up north and the creek running through it was full Very happy, first time it has been full since I bought it atleast, although up the road despite getting heaps of rain Lake Eildon was as bare and empty as ever, not looking good
Suprisingly the local river was also very empty, but the creeks and dams were overflowing and everything was green, hopefully get some more over the next few months to keep it all looking good and might start seeing Lake Eildon flowing again

Sounds nice eddiesmith. A few months ago, I headed off to Glenmaggie with camera to take pics of their previous flood.
Not much damaged, well it had already been done. Now, they have floods again, but I'm un-able to get down there.
Eddiesmith, roughly, where is your property?
Edit: By the way, Glenmaggie is a mysterious place, especially the surrounding hills.
