Re: dick
Has had 2 Games Dickgavin wrote:for those calling for dick to come in now,he is a way of getting back in i would think as he has only had 1 game in reserves unless he played today but he didnt do much last game and skills were pretty ordinairy so we will have to wait a bit for him.
our midfield is the problem we were chasing and tackling one after the other when we were winning now we dont tackle or chase or put any pressure on opponents midfield seem to let other teams own the midfield now
disgusted in losing tonight

I was thinking of quite a lengthy post in response to this putting arguments in support, then I just thought what's the point, why waste my breath. And I thought that Richmond supporters ate their own! Some of this post defeat attack on the club and individual players is absolutely disgraceful from people who are allegedly supporters. An utter **** disgrace!steviewonder36 wrote:You are as weak as piss too, sunshine.think positive wrote:its time to go ...millane 42Millane42 wrote:I love that some idiots on here are telling me a) to die and b) to f**k off.
Well back at ya idiots. I'll let you bathe in Magpie Mediocrity.
I'm sick of the current regime promising something they cannot deliver, remember Eddie saying we expect to win a premiership in the next 3 years. Well 2009 is gone, 2010 is heading south quickly, and the only positive I will take is it's another nail in MM's coffin. Although wait on, Eddie is still there, so MM is safe until end of 2011. What is Eddie still doing there, No premierships since 1999. It's time for change and for Buckley to step in.
It's time to delist the deadwood of O'Bree, Rusling, Cook, Wood, Corrie, Johnson.
It's time to play youth Blair, Goldsack, N.Brown, Barham, Dick. Hell even L. Brown is better than the chump Wood.
And it's a bit late to waste my money on these wasters as I've already bought tickets for the swans game and bought a weekend in melbourne to watch them play carlton. So I'm lamenting the curse of all magpie fans. The team and the club are an embarrassment. Tonight shows the real collingwood for what it is. Prentenders with no heart, sometimes titillating sometimes attractive but ultimately disappointing.
I'll let you wallow in the mediocrity as some of you seem to accept it.
can the mods please take the name off this turd because it is a total insult to a true collingwood hero - clubman who would turn in his grave at such crap being spewed about his beloved team -
u need to go and "support" another team
Another Donny in the making, don't like negative posts about the team, then go find something else to read.
You have no idea what following a football team is all about!

Dave if you don't think we are heading in the right direction , then I don't think you have been watching the Pies for too long. We are playing a faster and more direct brand of football than I have seen from us for a long time. We will hit blips like tonight , but we need to stand firm , things are improving , we move the ball much quicker than previous years , I personally don't think we have really clicked yet but when we do look out .

Looks like I might be retracting a couple of threads tonight
Yes you know the ones.
1. I was too hasty in saying I was sorry about Ben Johnson - the turnover king is back in town.
2. I was too hasty in believing Cloke was back as a key player.
When are we ever going to get key players who demand a spot in the All-Australian team each year.
And to think we might have got Jonathan Brown.
Damn, I'd even settle for a one-legged Fev right now.

sigh - its you who claim collingwood, both team and club, to be an embarrasment. they were your words, not mine. why you, or indeed anybody, would want to support such a club is beyond me. its hardly an unreasonable suggestion for you to look elsewhere if they are your true feelings.Millane42 wrote:Hey sportingtragic - "why don't you go support another team?"
Come up with something original.
Remember this quote from the movie Talladega Nights? "If you're not 1st you're Last?" Whether the Pies finished 2nd (under Mick) or last (under Shaw) they still didn't come 1st. 1st is all that counts, that anyone remembers and what the history books record. 1st is what US magpie supporters want.
Great they turned around the club, and the club survived - tick.
They got 50,000 members and are financially sound - tick.
They made sound investment decisions in hotels - CROSS.
They have famous supporters from all around the world - Rob Lowe, Bob Geldof, John Travolta, Usain Bolt - CREEPY.
They got great talent to the club like Pavlich and Judd - CROSS.
They have become the Man Utd of AFL and won premierships - CROSS.
I hope you enjoy watching the GF replays of 2002 and 2003, because we came 2nd. Enjoy watching the Lions lift the cup and enjoy Voss's shit eating grin!
you fail miserably to discredit the work of MM & Ed in the last decade by suggesting 2nd or 16th, its all the same.
again, they both annoy the shit out of me at times but you cannot possibly dispute the fact that collingwood have provided fans with more optimism of success in the last decade than in the decade prior.
if you genuinely feel you can mount an argument that a tony shaw coached side with jason wild, luke godden and stephen patterson gave you greater cause for hope than a MM coached side with beams, pendles, daisy, didak etc, then we clearly have a differing perspective on footy that can never be reconciled.
be disappointed all you want and even criticise all you want but dont pretend we are in no better position now than when MM & EM arrived. to do so bases your argument on a false premise.
(im with you on the celebrity ring-ins donning magpie scarves everytime they jet in. cringe worthy)

Re: dick
First game was very ordinary. Kicking in particular was terrible.Dave The Man wrote:Has had 2 Games Dickgavin wrote:for those calling for dick to come in now,he is a way of getting back in i would think as he has only had 1 game in reserves unless he played today but he didnt do much last game and skills were pretty ordinairy so we will have to wait a bit for him.

Don't know how he went today, but would have to have been very well to even be considered. See he only kicked 1 goal. Lockyer and Rounds would be ahead of him as forwards to come in. And obviously Leon (boy, did we miss him tonight? Those calling for his omission must be happy) and Medhurst if fit.
Well done boys!
