If we are losing Beams would we not have some interest in Higgins?

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't watch a lot of Doggies games. Has Higgins got the sort of explosiveness we're looking for in our midfield or is he another average speed accumulator?

Average speed, but class, if we think we would miss Beams finishing then Higgins would be ideal in this area.

I'd love a fit Higgins, but there's your problem right there. He's another injury prone player who's had a ton of missed games through injury. We have enough of them on our list already. Plus he is a plodder. Pass for mine.

On Clarke I had mixed feelings. I thought he was a step up from lynch and perhaps a small step up from white. His last season at the Brions was impressive. Then again so was whites last season witht the swans.

Still part of me liked the idea of a cloke, Clarke and maybe even white forward line with Reid back to his AA position down back.

Something tells me (and without starting a riot) that our current climate at the club will struggle to attract any decent recycled players or players wanting to move. I therefore think we are better building from the ground up. Get hold of some draft picks with the guys wanting to move and keep drafting in talented youth with silky disposal and some pace.

Then .....we just have to be patient, and put up with the wanker like comments as per above ^

Higgins isn't half the player Beams is & is continually injured.

STAY AWAY

If there is no quality players to pick up via trade then get quality kids in the draft. Higgins is not the answer & never has been. Average at best.

I don't think it's so much that we'll struggle to recruit decent players, but if we're competing for said players with clubs who are currently in or directly around a premiership window then it's definitely going to be hard.

That's football though.

True king, but players walking, regardless of the reasons, makes us less attractive, not more.

Don't be discouraged. Our drafting is first rate where as our trading isn't. It's probably a very good thing that we will be going to the draft.

Had a rough couple of years with injury but I don't think i'd call him a plodder, he's no slower than Beams...

Hawks run Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell through the middle, as Geelong did with Kelly, Selwood, Bartel and so on...

Speed in the guts = overrated...off half back maybe...but not in the middle.

True, I'd just allowed myself to get my hopes up with Clark. It also doesn't help that I have what can only be described as an extreme hatred for Geelong that some would call irrational
