Just skimming through the pages and saw this...

And I have to agree with you rudeman.
We saw the same thing with Cloke before he was shipped out
and due to the clubs soft approach to list management of
kkps and premiership players we may lose out again at
the trade table if were slow to act.

Your thoughts of Sidebottom would also generate debate rudie.

Great to see us play with some freedom, take the game on etc.
Being at the 2010 GF victory was such a special moment.

Fantastic win and more importantly a four quarter effort. Less sideways kicking out of defence and more quick and direct movement of the ball really made it easier to score goals.

Still think there is scope for Scharenberg, Crocker, De Goey and my man Daicos to force their way into the team over the next month or so.

If Bucks can get the side to play like that for the remainder of the season, I won't be critical of him.

Varcoe is huge for us agree 100%. We will miss his pace and hardness if he doesn't get up.

Cmon Pies!!
I wasn't far off. Quoted from the pre game thread.
Pies by 23 points. Fasolo, Cox and Billy to kick 3 each, Moore 2 and 3 GA. The rest to come in singles.

It's going to make an interesting discussion re:Reid.

Congratulations to a man that cops a lot on this site, Bill Davoren, and his staff for getting the players up after a 5 day break. We ran the game out better than the Cats, who were coming off a 7 day break. Sensational conditioning effort, not just for the week before this game, but in the weeks before, so the players were on top of the ground for the whole 4 quarters yesterday.

Mick Gayfer tore Richard Osborne a new one at Vic Park and as a result he was called into the Victorian squad. At the first training session in front of the group (which Osbourne was in) he asked the manager if he could share a room with him. Only 1 person didn't see the funny side of it.

I've been a critic of Bucks and his game plan for sometime.

What I saw Sunday's game plan was different and I don't think or I can recall the last few years without the need to bldy tackle, tackle, tackle all the time to be competitive. i.e. we never looked good unless we tackled atleast 80+ times.

For once I saw us not dominate the tackle count as it's impossible to present yourself week in, week out with that attitude. And yet, we played pretty well with our tackle count approx 60 and DE was high 70's which tells me that ball movement, options taken, kicking etc. was pretty good.

We know we have a pretty good list of players, we just need the coaching game plans in place and I hope this was not an aberration. Time will tell.

This. Absolutely. Cox never gives up. Seriously, watch him.

For mine his main job when forward is to take defenders away from Moore which he did. Then he needs to get the ball to ground if he doesn't mark it which he did. Then he needs to hit the scoreboard which he didn't do with the opportunities
Lastly he gives Grundy a rest in the ruck and we continued our dominance at the ruck contests giving our kids first and clean use of it which he did
So he got 3 out of 4 jobs done so he gets a game again
I think he with his size straightens our attack up. We were much more direct today because seeing a 7ft'er standing there 20 from goal in front of the big sticks is hard to miss. He takes the biggest best defender away from Moore allowing him to get up the field and back and run around basically

Trav Varcoe one --or more likely two weeks out was a disappointment from an otherwise
good win
I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right
