For the past 6 years we have been saying next year for Bux, next year will be the year or two years from now you will see how good we will be...blah blah blah. In my mind I never thought that way. I never really saw anything to suggest we were heading anywhere but backwards and in the end this has been the result. It feels like whenever we win it is really just in isolation, that is isn't the beginning of real improvement or the start of a run of wins. So, when we beat teams like Geelong or Hawks or Freo away or Eagles in a fightback it is difficult to believe it is anything other than an isolated win that means not much. We are yet to build momentum under Bux. I've been waiting for momentum to develop. This season I've seen great things and horrible things, wins and losses of all types, it has been a bit of a dogs breakfast but as I sit here typing I want to make a call on Buckley once and for all.
I've been on and off this damn bandwagon like a drunken hobo for 6 years, but here it is.
Give him a 3 year contract now and end all this bullshit.
I think our team needs a bit of an upgrade to be sure but it does look like the team is playing for him. It is more to the point that they are limited in their abilities to play really well for him. And this manifests itself into poor structures that results in coast to coast stuff that we see. It is more of a player capability issue we need to improve. Hine needs to get his shit together over the next few drafts and nail those 1st and 2nd round draft picks and start making trades and free-agent pickups that fit the profile of what this team needs to go forward. And I think we could do with some "teaching" assistant coaches as well, not sure if there is enough teaching going on at the club. Hopefully this club performance review will unveil some of these requirements.
Either way there will be some interesting decisions on the way. We've invested 6 years in Bux, what's another 3? It could be the 3 he really needs to get everything to click.

Congratulations to Adelaide for coming back from 50 points behind. We didn't choke but we gave away a few unnecessary goals which was the difference between a win and a draw. Hopefully we learn from this and become a better side.
I don't mind the draw. I don't mind losing the odd game or two. What I do mind is some of the drivel we dished up to the supporters this season. The Port Adelaide game, the St Kilda game, the Carlton game and the Essendon game. That was drivel. Today was a great effort by the team which we almost pulled off. Sadly not to be but we should all be proud of the team.
Well said. Honestly some on here are seriously prone to histrionics . I never thought we'd get that close today . What I saw was a side (undermanned somewhat) trying its guts out . Adelaide were always going to cone back at us...hard . I saw team sitting on top of the ladder playing a team sitting 13th. They tried but failed against probable premiers
What an absolute crock. I said to anyone who wanted to listen we would BEAT Adelaide and put my hard earned on them at Avery juicy $3.60 and although being 50 points up was not in the plan,Iit is my opinion that Adelaide are flat track bullies who don't like the hard stuff which we proved today. In the end it wasn't Adelaide who beat us ,it was Collingwood ,with it's insipid play at times and a fair smattering of unbelievably bad and biased umpiring cost us the game. We drew but every other person on the planet will feel as if the Colliwobbles resurfaced today and we will be the laughing stock of the AFL for another year.Pride is a word you should choose very carefully and today is not the time to use it I feel.
Lighten up. Our season was shot before this game. For league leaders to come back from 50 points down is nothing these days. It takes two sides to tango. As long as you play your best footy we should all feel proud. Also to single out one player for the resulting draw when all 22 players are playing their guts out, is weak form.
The way I see it we were able to outscore the number one team by 50 points in a half and the best they could do was match that effort to scrape out a draw.
If you flipped the order of events and we had a great second half to get the same end result we'd all be celebrating.
It's hard to believe that a bloke that 'can't coach' is capable of preparing a team to stand toe to toe with the flag favourite.
Second half was 13 scoring shots to 16
Difference was accuracy- as well as experience.
We shat ourselves and they had nothing to lose.
Blair haters- he was instrumental in 2 of our last 3 goals as well as nullifying Laird.
Buckley haters- we destroyed the top team for a half without our captain and best line breaker- we beat them in all stats except goal kicking accuracy.
Was furious but have settled- happily wouldve taken a draw at start of game- and as we are no chance of finals, at least improves our draft pick.
Moore was awesome today, starting to get that terminator look about him. I'm too young to remember his old man, but his agility around the ground when he went to the ruck is what I imagine he was like. His final set shot wasn't great but I thought he played a very good game.
Cloke has had years of footy & experience behind him.
Give the kid a break!
Clokey had already won a Copeland by Moores age, Darcy we encourage by getting excited every game he kicks 1 goal!
Cloke had a mature body by age 21. Moore is still growing into his body. I thought Moore was fantastic today but he needs help. He can't do it all on his own.
You've been on this site for 10 years but you haven't worked that Eddiesmith is David Cloke?
Four legged animals good, two legged animals better

Did you notice the first goal that Blair kicked? It was the result of a knockdown of the ball by WHE out of the hands of the Adelaide player who was about to mark the ball. Doesn't show up on the stat sheet of WHE but you can mark down as a WHE goal. Plenty of other instances of play where WHE is the difference between the ball travelling down the end where Collingwood is kicking, or back down the end Adelaide is kicking towards their goals. Pity you don't notice what others find obvious.

Just watched Bucks press conference, he talks about players going away from game plan with risky kicks into our forward 50 in second half. Very proud of the contest, work rate and desire just lacking a little in application. I enjoy listening to his press conferences. Full of praise for Wells, Tay, Sidey and Darcy.
People forget that our last premiership was only 2010 and rebuilds take some time. 2018 we play finals again.
