Disappointing to drop out like that but as with the seniors we did really well just to make the finals with large chunks missing most of the season. What might've been if we held on against box hill and ended up with the double chance?
Indeed. Or not dropped the return encounter against the Blues, whom we had napalmed into the dirt the first time around by 130 points. Probably wouldn't have beaten a rampaging Casey on Saturday, had we the double-chance, but at least we'd still be playing...

Not me MB I'm the innocent party as usual
On a separate note any chance you can take over recruiting and find someone taller than 5ft6" to play in defence
I think we're short changing Essendon in yesterday's game. They probably played their best team for the year. To be able to drop Francis back into the VFL side for this game was always going to be tough on our forwards. Fasolo's head is no longer focused on the game given his uncertain future. Then Essendon played experienced toughened bodies in Merritt, Green and Hooker and our big bodied mid in Wills was missing. Our backline was under siege all afternoon and Rivers worked overtime with all the structural changes in the side. Ultimately we never threw the towel in so I wouldn't be overcritical on individual performances in the team. Essendon deserved to win. Good luck to them against Richmond next week. And the umpiring yesterday wasn't all that bad. There were plenty of frees that could have gone Essendon's way yesterday.
Even contest. Essendon were just much more efficient in front of the goal. It was plain to see that Essendon were playing more best 22 or close-to best 22 AFL players in their VFL side yesterday. We've had to pillage our reserve stocks to be competitive at AFL level so obviously that's going to affect the result.
We were ordinary in a lot of ways but I wasn't surprised given the team we had. It was clear after yesterday why Fasolo has been overlooked even as an emergency when fit. He just looked bloody awful. I hope he gets a new lease on footy at a new club or if he stays, I do hope he tries his hardest. I mean technically he could still get a call up during the finals.
